Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that many churches continue to drift away from the Scriptures. We also see this in the lives of individuals and families. Instead of allowing Scripture to guide our lives, we have opted to let feelings, emotions, and human desires to sway our actions. Not surprisingly, this leads to disastrous consequences.

Revelations 3:15-16 (NKJV) - "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."

In our day, modern evangelicalism, the church at large for the most part, continues to drift away from the scriptures and we see this happening not only with the way that churches are proclaiming the gospel or the so-called gospel that churches are proclaiming which is man-centered and less focused on God and His holiness and the demands of Scripture, but we see it in lives of individuals with a lack of emphasis on holiness, we see it in families with a lack of emphasis on raising up our children in the way that the Scriptures command, the way that the husband should lead within the home, the way that God has made clear for us to be. As a result of evangelicalism in our day, moving away from the scriptures and not relying on the scriptures completely for all of life, We have allowed things like feelings or emotions. Basically it boils down to human desires which at their core apart from salvation in Christ is fleshly and worldly and ultimately against Christ.
