How can a pastor of a church help to bring about reformation?

Paul Thompson explains in this video that one of the most impactful things that a pastor can to do is to faithfully preach the Word of God.  

Not just any preaching will do. It must be biblical, expositional, and godly preaching. This kind of preaching comes from a preacher who has been reformed himself. His own philosophies have been corrected. The very core of who he is has been changed. This is one way that God uses preachers to bring about reformation within the church. 

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) – “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

One of the best things a pastor can do, I think, in helping his congregation to move toward reformation is the faithful, expositional preaching of the Word of God. He must realize his duty of preaching is paramount. It is significantly important. Not just any preaching will do in this place. It must be biblical preaching.

It must be God-inspired preaching. It must be Holy Spirit, endued with power kind of preaching. And that kind of preaching comes from a preacher who's been reformed himself. His own thinking has been reformed. His own philosophies have been corrected.
