How can we measure the quality of someone’s repentance?

Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that measuring true repentance over a short period of time is difficult. Over a long period of time, we can begin to see the fruits of the repentance and see that there has been a change of direction. We can see that they are not giving into sin as before. 

Rather, they have turned to Christ, turned away from sin, and continue to be conformed to His image.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) – “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Measuring true repentance is difficult in a small period of time, but over a period of time the way that we know that repentance is true is by looking at our life or the life of someone else and seeing that there has been a change of direction, that we're no longer giving in to the same sin in the same way to the same degree, but we have put our trust in Christ turned from who we were apart from Him and we've continued to be conformed to His image.
