How can a father be intentional about reforming his life?

Paul Thompson explains in this video that a reformation of thinking involves a follower of Christ bringing everything under the subjection of Scripture. All aspects of life must be governed by Scripture.

He explains that a father ought to be a blessing to his children and his wife. A father must be intentional about how he lives. He ought to strive to have aspect of his life lived in accordance with Scripture. At his workplace, he must work as though he is working for God – his whole mindset needs to be constantly reformed. He must ask himself, "How do I put the glory of God on display always?"

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) – “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

A reformation of thinking that a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ must bring everything into his life in the subjection of the truth of Scripture. He needs to bring his recreational activity into subjection of Scripture. He needs to bring his leisure activity of the things that he loves to just... When a father comes home from work or a husband comes home from work, he needs to reform his thinking about what he's gonna do when he gets home. Rather than coming home and the first thing he wants to do is kick his shoes off and sit down in front of the television and just feed his own desires for laziness.

He must prepare himself as he's even going home. That I'm going to the most important place, the most influential place that God has given to me. That I'm gonna go there and be a blessing to my wife. I'm gonna go there and I'm gonna intentionally instruct and teach. He must put everything, all of his thinking, into subjection.

He needs to have how he thinks about how he works in the workplace into subjection of scripture. Is he going to go and just perform a duty? Or is he gonna do what scripture actually tells him to do? And to work as though he's working for the Lord? His whole thinking, his whole mindset needs to be reformed.

Everything I'm doing now is a moment to put the glory of God on display always? That kind of reformation needs to happen today.
