What are fruits of repentance?
Paul Carrington explains in this video that one of the fruits of repentance is a humbleness and humility and a willingness to be corrected. We also begin to see others around us as created in God's image but estranged from Him because of their sin.
We don't turn our backs on the lost. We begin to see people in a different light. After salvation, we want people to come to the knowledge of Christ. We desire that they would be saved.
Matthew 3:8 (NKJV) - "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance."
I think there's a brokenness, a willingness to be corrected. A man who's not willing to be corrected is probably a man that's not overly repentant. But I think another fruit of repentance, as well as we begin to see other people, not only in the church and not only in our own family, but as we go out into the highways and byways and we look at people, These are people who bear the image of God, and they have been estranged from God because of their own sin. And we don't just look at them and see that young girl with a mini skirt or strange colored hair or that guy covered in tattoos and we shrug and turn our backs, but we begin to see people, I think, in a different light. And when we have the fruit of repentance working in us, we want so deeply for other people to come to that knowledge of Jesus Christ, the only path, the only fountain of life that a man can actually be made well by.
