Should repentance be common within the church?

Jason Dohm explains in this video that repentance is something that should be ongoing in the life of a Christian. Christians attend church together and they are to be engaging in life together. Repentance must be a part of ongoing life in the church since we all sin.

In fact, repentance should be part of the fabric of church life. It should be a common practice within the church. We should be confronted by the Word of God in the preaching of the church and our personal Bible study and if we are convicted of sin, we must make it right by repenting of it. 

James 5:16 (NKJV) - "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

If repentance is something that's ongoing in the life of a Christian and if the church is where Christians are to be, to gather, gathering for corporate worship, but really also engaging in life together, then repentance is going to have to be an ongoing part of life in the church as we sin against each other, say things that we shouldn't in the presence of each other or about each other. And so repentance is going to have to be part of the fabric of church life. It should be common among us in the church. It shouldn't be uncommon that we're repenting but that we're actually being confronted by the Word of God through preaching and our own personal Bible study and seeing areas in which we've sinned against one another, maybe areas that we didn't even understand at the time, and where we're going to make those things right through repentance.
