How does national repentance begin?

Curt Daniels explains in this video that we see multiple examples of national repentance in the Old Testament. In these examples, individuals in leadership positions took the first step in repenting for national sins. 

Today, parents and elders should be doing the same. We ought to identify sins in the family and in the church and repent for them. National repentance begins first in the family and in the house of God. 

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NKJV) - "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Repentance in a nation can look like some of the examples we see in the revivals in the Old Testament under Hezekiah and Josiah, for example, and there are other ones where the leaders in particular took the first step. Today, it should be the elders, the parents taking the first step, and that they confess the sins of the nation. Nehemiah did this. I think Ezra did this. And they identified with the people.

Daniel did this. In a nation, it's not so much, well, it should start in the White House, it should start in God's house, where the people of God, and then it spreads as an overflow to the rest of the nation. We should pray for this in our nation for nationwide repentance. Judgment should begin in the house of God, so should repentance. You
