What are the blessings of repentance?

Rob Ventura explains in this video that fellowship and communion with God are restored when we repent of our sins. As Christians, we are in an indissoluble union with God, but communion with God can be broken when we give into and embrace sin.

If we do not break from our sin, our fellowship with God is impaired. But, when we repent and turn from it by God’s grace, the Lord forgives us. Repentance is necessary for the Christian. It keeps maintains vital communion with God.

1 John 1:7 (NKJV) – “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

It would be our fellowship with God. It would be our communion with God, right? So as Christians, we're in an indissolvable union with God. That union can never be broken, but certainly that communion can be broken. So one way that communion is restored is by repenting of our sins.

And when God the Holy Spirit is putting his finger upon something in our life, tapping that little thing, brother, You need to get rid of that and if we keep it on and on and we're not breaking from that sin We're gonna have trouble but then when we turn from it finally by God's grace we repent we say Lord. I'm done I bring it to you. I confess it I believe John 1 9 that the blood of Jesus continues to cleanse from all unrighteousness The Lord forgives us So repentance is necessary in the Christian life for the Christian because repentance keeps that vital communion with God lively and active. It keeps it void of offense between God and certainly horizontally men.
