Is the Reformation still relevant today? How does it continue to affect our lives?

Joel Beeke explains in this video that reformation has everything to do with the church today and profits us in all kinds of ways. Its importance and relevance did not come to an end 500 years ago. Rather, it affects the way we see everything.

The lessons we learn and take away from the Reformation impact our view on marriage, parenting, ethics, and all of life. Our ultimate goal of glorifying God is that we want to be filled with praise to God. The Reformation helped us to better understand who God is and be filled with a greater sense of worship towards Him. 

1 Corinthians 6:11 (NKJV) – “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”   

The Reformation has everything to do with the church today and it profits us in all kinds of ways, not just the five points of Calvinism, but I wrote a book with a number of other authors called Living for the Glory of God, an Introduction to Calvinism, and in that book there's chapters, yes, on the five points, yes, on other areas of theology, but there's also chapters on how the Reformation molds the church, how the Reformation forms our view of work, our view of politics, our view of parenting, our view of marriage, our view of ethics, our view of all of life, and the last chapter is our view of doxology. Because if the Reformation does anything that we treasure today, it is certainly this, that the end of the head, heart, hands, whole man theology of glorified God is that we want to be filled with doxological praise to our tremendous trial God of salvation.
