Is Scripture just as relevant today as it was during the Reformation?

Jason Dohm explains in this video that we need to learn is how critical loving Scripture is. Reading Scripture was not just for the 15th or 16th century but God’s Word has always and will always be applicable and true.

Reformation is always ongoing – it never is complete, no matter what century we live in, because we are never fully conformed to Scripture. It is our responsibility to find out how our practices and thinking are not fully conformed to Scripture. We then need to go to the Word of God and conform our lives to it.

Psalm 19:7 (NKJV) – “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” 

So I think the thing that we need to be learning from the Protestant Reformation was how critical loving scripture and putting Scripture at the center of things is for the people of God, not just in the 1500s of the 1600s, but even today. Reformation is something that isn't accomplished in any century in human history, but it's ongoing and it's ongoing because we're never fully conformed to Scripture. So it's the responsibility of the people of God to find out the places where our practices and our thinking isn't conformed to the Word of God. Go to the Word of God, find out where our problems are, and then conform to the Word of God.
