What was the impact of the Reformation?

Rob Ventura explains in this video that when we think of the result of the Reformation, the centrality of the Word of God and of preaching come to mind. A high view of Scripture, of the Gospel, of God, and of worship were just several glorious results that came out of the Reformation. 

God's Word is perfect and it is true. Nothing else can compare to it. The Reformation was so beneficial because it helped to correct the false belief of the day that man's traditions and ideas are superior to what God says in His Word. 

Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV) - "Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day." 



You know, when we think about the result of the Reformation, we're thinking about a centrality of the Word of God. We're thinking about the centrality of preaching. So all of those things had been shrouded in Romanism for years. So again, the result is centrality of Scripture. Of course you've got John Calvin in Geneva, then exiled for three years, and he comes back and he starts preaching, you know, back in Matthew where he had left off because he was a consecutive expository preacher of Scripture.

So the result was a high view for Scripture, a high view of the Gospel, and a high view of God. Also a high view of worship. All of these things were central. These were glorious results, again coming out of Romanism, which the Protestant Church you
