What is the impact of biblical repentance?

Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that if people and churches in our culture would repent and turn from their sins, there would be a distinct change. If Christians live lives that are marked by repentance and godliness, then our churches would be healthy - they would be pillars in the communities in which they stand.

Ultimately, repentance would affect our nation at large. We need churches that will take repentance seriously and be bold in teaching that Scripture commands repentance.

Joel 2:12-13 (NKJV) – “’Now, therefore,’ says the Lord, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’ So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.”

If the churches in our culture began to be affected by healthy biblical repentance, then it would look like godliness had swept through our churches, especially those who have been doing without repentance or put repentance on the side, assuming that it's no longer necessary for Christianity in our day. But if all those who claim to be Christian began to live lives that were marked by repentance, turning away from sin and having lives that are marked by Christ-like characteristics and godliness and righteousness and all that they do, then our churches would be healthy. They would be pillars in the communities in which they stand. There would be more power coming from the pulpit, from the witness of the parishioners as they go about their daily tasks. And that would affect our nation at large.

It wouldn't just be that individual community but all churches if they would be biblical in their approach to repentance and it would be and if it were commanded from the pulpits to repent from sin and to leave the sin behind and to follow Christ. If churches in different communities and neighborhoods would take repentance seriously, If they would repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, then neighborhood after neighborhood and community after community throughout our land would be transformed, radically transformed, as a result of turning away from sin and selfishness and turning to Jesus and following Him.
