What is the effect of only trusting Scripture partially, accepting certain sections as true and ignoring or disregarding other sections?

Ken Ham explains in this video that generations of young people have grown up attending public schools where they are taught ideas of evolution. Sadly, many of these children attend churches that avoid confronting the subject of evolution and simply tell them to “trust in Jesus.” Churches need to exhort children and their families to boldly stand on Scripture and explain that they can trust the entire Word of God as being wholly true.

The Words of Christ and the book of Genesis are both found in the same place – Scripture. When you undermine the Word in one area, you unlock a door that creates doubt and leads to a slippery slope of unbelief. Today, we have had a generational loss from the church because there has been an undermining of the authority of Scripture. We need a new reformation within the Church and that begins by pointing people back to the Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) – “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

What they've really done is attack the authority of the Word of God. And what has happened is that generations of young people today have grown up in churches, majority have gone to public schools, 85 to 90 percent of them go to public schools where they've been taught these ideas of evolution millions of years, instead of the church getting them to stand on scripture boldly and unashamedly and teaching them the answers to these questions to show them they can trust God's Word. Instead of doing that, much of the churches said, okay, you can believe that doesn't matter, just trust in Jesus. But the message of Jesus comes from the same book as we have Genesis, it's called the Bible. The message of Jesus comes from the Word of God.

And when you undermine the Word in one area, you unlock a door that creates doubt that puts people on a slippery slide of unbelief. And that's really what's happened. What's happened is we've had a generational loss from the church because there's been an undermining of the authority of scripture, and that's one of the reasons why I say today we need a new reformation in our churches, because really the movement of the reformation was to call people back to the authority of the word of God. When Luther nailed those theses on the door of the church. That's really what he was doing.

He was saying to the church, we need to get back to what God's word says about faith, about all areas.
