Is there an excuse for a man to not disciple his family?

Kevin Swanson explains in this video that God wants a man to disciple his children. It doesn’t matter if his life is in order or not. The Bible calls for a man to teach the Word of God on a daily basis to all who are in his home. This needs to be something that occurs on a daily basis.

Even if it has been a long day or the father does not feel qualified, a father is still commanded to read and study the Scripture and spend time in prayer with his family. God doesn’t want us to read His Word only if we’re in the right mood or if we're theologians. We are to be faithful to obey His commands no matter what.

Psalm 119:1-2 (NKJV) – “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart!”

Our Lord's last command is our first priority. In the church, in the family, in the city, to the ends of the earth. Join us in October for White Under Harvest. And he has the opportunity to reach out to everybody in his home. The Bible speaks of a household being made up of the apprentices, the servants, the stranger within the gates. When a man preaches the Word of God, teaches the Word of God in his home on a daily basis, he's talking to everybody who's there. And that's something that ought to be happening every single day. You
