How does the fear of God lessen your other fears in life? Jason Dohm explains in this video that Matthew 6 discusses God’s provision for us, which is why we are not to worry about what we’ll eat or wear. The fear of God is a “master fear” - when you fear God, those others fears become very small. If we have the pleasure of God and when we seek God’s kingdom first, the other things will fall into place. When we fear God, we know that the other things are not worthy of our fear. This fear subjugates other fears. Our other fears cannot compare to the fear of God. Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) – “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew chapter 6 is a great chapter for this because he talks about God's provision for us. It's talking about this in the context of money, but it talks about not worrying about what you'll eat or what you'll wear, where your provision will come from. And Jesus is arguing that you don't need to worry about that, okay? The fear of God is a master fear, okay? When you fear God, the other fears become very small because you know that all those other things are inconsequential.

If you have the pleasure of God, the other things work themselves out. That's what Jesus is teaching in Matthew chapter 6, that if we seek His kingdom first, then all the other things fall into place. That's when we seek His kingdom first, is when we have this holy reverence of God, and when we fear Him, and we know that the other things are really not worthy of our fear. The fear of the Lord subjugates the other fears. It makes us know that the other fears aren't worthy of that esteem.

It really is the placing of an esteem on the object of fear in a way. It's really placing a really high value on it in a sense. You
