Have you considered the effects of your uncontrolled anger?
Kevin Swanson explains that when fathers erupt in anger, lose control of their tongue, and throw things in the presence of their families, they are really trying to dispense of God’s authority. Man’s wrath is not a righteous wrath, as God’s wrath is. By repenting of that anger and allowing God to be God, fathers allow their families to recognize that their father honors God. God is the righteous judge - it is not our place to usurp His authority.
James 1:19-20 (NKJV) – “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
I think anytime a father erupts in anger and becomes that control freak dad that wants to throw everything around the house and make sure everything comes out according to his sovereign will is really raising a fist in the face of God and is trying to displace God. So any father who begins to repent of that anger and steps aside and allows God to be God, he begins to bow his knee to God and serve God. His family recognizes that and sees that Father reverences God and controls himself because he submits himself to the sovereign control of Almighty God. That's an important message that's sent home to the kids.
