Having a fear of God and salvation go hand in hand. When we realize how serious our sin is in God’s eyes, how perfect He is, and how much He hates sin, it drives us to the cross and to repentance. Conversely, a casual, flippant approach to sin and its consequences should cause alarm. What are ways in your life that you have compromised, rebelled against, neglected, or watered down the truths of Scripture?
Matthew 10:28 (NKJV) - “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
No, it's not possible to be saved and have no fear of the Lord. I think most of us would look at our hearts and see the remaining distance between us and conformity to Christ and we would say we don't fear the Lord enough. But if you have no fear of the Lord, you'll never come to faith. If you have no understanding of God that would allow you to be without the fear of the Lord, that's not something that can be savingly embraced.
