If someone comes to me wondering whether they have the fear of the Lord, I would say a better question is, you know, how much of the fear of the Lord do I have? Unless they're a total, unregenerate, apostate, reprobate, who maybe has none of the fear of the Lord. The question for Christians is, how much do I have? And the answer is told by your life. The more you fear God, the more you're careful over your life.

Do you obey the Lord? Are there signs of obedience in your life? If you obey Him, then you love Him. If you obey Him, then you fear Him in the good way, in the way that a son fears a good father, who really is a good discipling father who brings them along with discipline. You can love your father and fear him at the same time.

In fact, those things often go together.
