Here in this clip, Jason Dohm speaks of the importance of having home life in order. He says that when you have home life in order, it serves as a foundation on which you can begin obey the other commands of Scripture.
Family integration was never the end point for us. What was at stake was conforming to Scripture. So, family integration addresses a crying need of today, but the thought was never that we would make a good deal of progress in this category and then we can take a deep breath and feel like we were done. No, the idea is we're moving on to the next thing, the next crying need of the day. The beauty of having home life in order is that it then serves as a platform to allow you to obey the other commands of Scripture.
Not that we should have waited for this, but it gives you a strong place from which to begin to reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ. That does not have to be an individualistic activity. It actually is wonderfully done together as families. And so, for us, having made some progress, now it's time to consolidate those gains, keep those gains, preserve those gains, but then also continue to reform from what we are to what we ought to be according to Scripture.
