Here, Stephen Hopkins speaks of how living a life that reflects the Gospel is in itself evangelism. However, he says that it is not enough for us to simple live a godly lives but we must also be active and intentional, in both our homes and our Churches, in reaching the lost.

Our Lord's last command is our first priority. In the church, in the family, in the city, to the ends of the earth. Join us in October for White Under Harvest. First, evangelism, it is the life of the believer. It's like what we teach fathers about communicating truth to their children on a daily basis.

Deuteronomy 6, 7, when you rise up, when you lie down. Evangelism is the same way. It's our life. It's when we rise up, when we lie down. And what we don't realize a lot of times is that we're preaching even when we don't think we're preaching.

We're communicating something all the time. And that needs to be the gospel. It needs to be flowing forth from our life, from our family's lives, and from our church's lives all the time. Evangelism is very important in the life of the home and we So many times we don't use what God has given us. We're supposed to use everything that God has given us for his glory.

This is a good example of like home evangelism for the Hopkins family. We're out one day, I've got my boys with me because we work together. We do various businesses. I have nine sons. And we're, this particular day, we're mowing lawns, we're cutting trees, we've got our truck, we've got our trailer, and we're out doing this in our community.

We stop for lunch. We go to a subway. Just getting out of the vehicle, and here comes these two young men in white shirts on bicycles. And they've got these little badges on them that say that they're elders of their church or something. You know, so, they go, oh okay, well.

So they come in, come up to us, and they start talking, and they say, you know, we're from the, whatever, LDS Church, which of course we know is not a church, but they start asking us if they can come to our house and share their, actually I think they use the word gospel. The boys kind of gather around me, you know, what's dad gonna say here to these gods, because I've taught them about Mormonism, you know, but I wanted to share the gospel with these young men because they didn't know the gospel. They were believing in a false gospel and a false Christ. So I saw this as a great opportunity. So I said, I'm talking to them and they asked if they could come to our home.

And I said, sure. And they were kind of like, you know, taken aback because they're all, you know, probably get a lot of rejection. And I said, how about tonight? And they were kind of, you know, shocked again. And I said, sure.

I said, how about for dinner? And they're like, okay. You know, it's like this is easier than we thought, you know. And so they, I said how about seven o'clock? So I gave them directions, they came out to our house and I'm sure they didn't know what to expect, but they got to our house, we greet them on the front porch, they came in, my wife and daughters prepared this sumptuous meal on our 12-foot table, children all around the table.

They came, we went straight to the table, nothing else, went straight to the table. So we get to the table and they're sitting down there, we got a place for them, they're served, everybody bows their head, I pray, not them. Yeah, I pray and we eat and I can tell they're already kind of shocked. There's these, you know, 15 kids still at home, you know, grab the table and then we went straight from there into the living room, sit down and I said, share with us what you want to share with us. I gave them the first opportunity.

They sit down, they start going into their spiel, you know, their Mormonism spiel and as soon as they put forth the first heresy, because they're kind of clever, you know, they're not gonna just jump right out there, take about five minutes to get to it, open the Bible, say, now wait a minute, wait a minute, because my children are here, they got to learn this too, right? And I said, Wait a minute, what you're saying is this, and God's Word says this, and I take them to the places, you know, I could see, I think in Mormonism what they have is one who's kind of like the leader, the instructor, the other guy's kind of the follower. So they're, or it's the learner, it's being kind of taught, you know, how to do this. I can see the expression on the one guy's face that this may not be going the way we thought it was going to go. And so I'm taking them to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I'm taking them over and over to the Word of God, answering everything that they say, line by line, word by word, everything. My children are learning, my family is seeing how this is supposed to work. These guys are having the gospel communicated to them, okay? They're getting nervous. I can see that they're starting to want to, you know, get out of their seats and kind of make for the door and everything, and I'll bring it down a little bit more, you know, because, hang on, just let me just say this, and we'll go on with the next part of it, and not trying to lead them through the sinner's prayer or something like that, but to communicate the truth of God's Word.

So they're listening and all of a sudden the guy's ready to bolt. He's like, well I think, you know, that we've reached a conclusion here and he's trying to get... And I'm following him out the door. I said, please, no, please, my wife, you know, they're, my wife has a dessert prepared. I said, couldn't you just stay a few more minutes?

No, no, we really need to be going, you know, and they're walking out the door and I'm pleading with them. We're going down the steps, you know, my kids are coming out on the thing. I mean, we care about their souls. We want them to hear the truth, and I believe that I could tell, I seem to be able to tell that while the one who was kind of in the leadership position, who was kind of mentoring the other one. He wanted out of there so fast.

The other one, his expressions were something was getting through, and for all I know that was God's purpose in all of it. This young man who was supposed to be being mentored by this Mormon missionary was actually hearing the gospel maybe of Jesus Christ for the first time in his life. So they're going down the steps and I'm just pleading with them, you know. I believe that the gospel should be a pleading as well and I'm pleading on them and saying, you know, please could you come back in? They're like, No, we've got to go.

I went down the steps and down the driveway and they got into their car, followed them out to their car. And they got in their car, they started up their car and they're about to go out the driveway and I knocked on the window. And they only put the window about two inches down. I was a little nervous and I put it down about two inches. And I said, please, could you, would you consider coming back in?

We have more things that we, you know, there's much more that I'd like to talk about. We'll let you talk and everything. No, we got, we've got to get out of here, roll up the window and left. I don't know how that's all gonna play out on the Judgment Day. I don't know how, what seeds were planted there, but that is typical of the way that I want to do things with my family.

We're preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ by our lives all the time, but when we have those instances where it's very obvious, here's a situation where I can invite them into my home, they could see what the gospel produces, We can try to adorn the gospel of Jesus Christ and then we could communicate it to them and we can pray for God's will to be done as we plant those seeds. That's the way I like to see it, you know, kind of work. Is that the only way? No. I street preach, you know, like I said, the men in our church, you know, street preach, go to abortion clinics and share the gospel with people who are, you know, committing, you know, breaking the sixth commandment right in front of you.

One thing I want to say is we have to never ever forget the... It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that is the power of God unto salvation. Not the clever inventions and devices of men. The simple gospel. That's the power of God unto salvation.

God's Word will never return void. It will always produce what God has intended it to produce. For it to produce. Our job is to take it to the world. You
