In this sermon, Scott Brown discusses the ways in which God has provided the church with experiences that are a blessing to families, including preaching, singing, prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and church discipline. He emphasizes the importance of families engaging in all of these experiences and committing to them for life, as the church is the place where Christ cares for and nourishes his people.

God has given the church a set of commands in the form of practices that are a blessing to the family. And so what we've been saying in this conference is that we should trust the things that God has given to the Church to provide for the family for her discipleship. And God has given the church a wonderful array of activities to be a blessing to their families. One, He gives them preaching that the families would be hearing the preaching of the Word of God, the Apostles' Doctrine, the sweet words of Scripture, that they would be engaged in singing. The family needs to sing together, that they would be involved in prayer.

The family needs to be involved in corporate prayer with all the saints. The family needs to be involved in the celebration of the Lord's table, where the Gospel is preached in vivid graphic form. The family should be involved in evangelism. The family should be involved in fellowship and breaking bread from house to house and personal discipleship of one another, the body building itself up in love. So God has provided an array of experiences that He would use to bless His families.

Unfortunately, a lot of families say, well, I like the preaching but I don't like the prayer. I like the fellowship but I don't like the evangelism, something like that. But God has provided a very well-balanced, beautiful diet for the families. Here's what families should do. They should not long for something that Scripture isn't providing for them, But they should say this, I will all my life long commit myself to these things until Christ takes me home.

Because the church is the place that Christ nourishes his people and cares for them. And he cares for them through the preaching, through the singing, through the prayers, through the fellowship, through the evangelism, through the church discipline, through all the different things that God has provided the church. Families should not only be satisfied with that and not seek something else, but they should also do everything they can to engage in all of those experiences that have been divinely ordained for the church and God will bless these families and they will be nursed all their life long one decade after another and then one day Christ will take his lambs home after he's cared for them in his church. You
