The speaker discusses the benefits of having your family on the mission field, including being able to form heart-to-heart relationships with locals and having the opportunity to be discipled by family members. He also mentions a recent project completed by two individuals and the importance of learning the local language.

So Nate, Maxon, one of the benefits of your being here in Malawi as a whole family is you just completed a pretty exciting project. You published a Chichewa grammar, Chichewa, one of the languages in Malawi. So tell us about that. That probably ties in with what I mentioned about it not being so hard for the last several years. Because over the last several years I've really gotten to know the language and be able to really have heart to heart relationships with guys over here, really good friendships, meeting with some guys weekly for prayer, for Bible study.

I don't really see myself as a missionary kid, I really see myself as a missionary. I think it's a tremendous privilege to be over here and be discipled by my dad and to really catch a vision for what the Lord is doing in this world and see Christ being glorified in people's lives. That I've really gotten to know really well.
