Scott Brown speaks at a father-daughter retreat on the theme of building a fearless generation of daughters who walk in the ways of the Lord. He emphasizes the importance of not fearing man or the culture, and of following God's ways for manhood and womanhood. He outlines six critical marks of biblical womanhood: being a dominion taker, a home builder, a nurturer, a domestic entrepreneur, a demonstration of unfading beauty, and a learner and teacher of the next generation.

Well, welcome. Welcome to the father-daughter retreat. And this is an exciting moment for me in many ways. I've been doing father-daughter retreats for nine to twenty years. And I've seen lots of fruit come out of them so I'm really glad that you're all here.

I just want to make a few comments just to help us get calibrated. First of all, one of the exciting things about this gathering here tonight and tomorrow is that we have a new generation of daughters here in this room. You know, when I began to do father-daughter retreats, my daughters were young. They were seven, eight, nine, ten, twelve, fifteen, seventeen years old. And now they're grown.

Now they have babies. And you know what? They walked in so many other ways that we taught them at the father daughter retreats I'm so delighted that that happened but there's a new generation of daughters here and I got my eye on you I'm praying for you I really am The power of a daughter governed by God is frankly astounding, and I'm seeing it play out in women who understood these things about biblical womanhood and what it means to be a daughter. You fathers are here as well. Some of you have daughters that were part of that first early generation and now they're gone but you still have some young daughters.

Here's the reality. There's nothing more sacred, there's nothing more important than you will do in your whole life than to perform the biblical function of a father. And so I'm really glad that you're here. Now you know the theme, fearless. I have a hat on that says fearless.

We have hats for every girl here if you would like them. Looks like we have a few left and if there are any left men can take them. We want the girls to have them first. The theme is fearless, building a culture of power, love, and sound mind out of 2 Timothy 1. 7.

What I want, what I want us to understand, what I want every girl to understand here is, is that it's so important that you don't fear man. It's so important that you don't fear your friends. You don't fear the culture. You don't fear Vogue magazine. You don't—you walk differently.

You walk in the ways of the Lord. God adds His power to girls who walk in the ways of the Lord. He adds His power to everyone who walks in the ways of the Lord. But you have a hat on your head that says, fearless. And I don't know if you got a wrist bracelet.

These are these glow in the dark. I'm told these glow in the dark. But on this bracelet is written the words, power, love, and sound mind. And we pray that you really understand how important that is. Walk in God's ways.

That's what we're here to say. We're here to just urge you to get your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ and to walk in the ways that God has designed. Okay, I'll tell you another thing that I'm here to say. I'm here to say that God's ways are superior to all the ways of man, all the ways of your own heart, all the ways of anybody in the entertainment industry. God's ways are better.

And I'm reminded of something that Martin Lloyd-Jones said one time. He said, we should give our children the impression that the most wonderful thing in the world is Christianity. He said, and that there is nothing in life comparable to being a Christian. There's nothing in life comparable to being a Christian. But the problem is, well there's a problem.

God's ways set you apart. God's ways make you live differently. And it's really important that you live differently. And people today are afraid of living differently. And the worldly philosophies of the world about womanhood and manhood are completely different than God's, but the simple powerful ways of God for manhood and the simple powerful ways of God for daughterhood is what we're going to be talking about here.

And they really are wonderful. Here's what we want to say. Be satisfied with what God has told you. And just trust that. Because you don't need anything else.

God is your strength. God is your song. God is your guide. That's what we really want to say. We want to say that Jesus Christ is the best shepherd out there, and there are none that are better.

And we want to say, don't learn the ways of the Gentiles, and don't act like the other girls in the culture, and you men don't act like the other men in this culture, because God has called you to something higher, and that's what we're here to do. You know, the world, the world wants women to play men's roles, and the world wants men to play women's roles. And right before your eyes in this culture, the world is calling an end to gender. And that's very significant, Because it was God that made man male and female. The world wants to erase your manhood.

The world wants to erase your womanhood. And make men and women the same. And it's just the most corrupting, ridiculous things. You know, for girls to act like boys and boys to act like girls is the most ridiculous thing. But you're living in a culture that's proclaimed the end of gender.

And the gender blending is just, it's insane. Now here's the deal, we're not playing that game. Don't you play that game. It's a death game. And So there you are.

So you're in, you daughters are a new generation. And what you do with your womanhood, what you do with your daughterhood will shape your life like you can't believe. Walk in the ways of the Lord and God will protect you. And I want to say that in different ways over and over again. You know in my morning reading, Bible reading, I'm in the book of Jeremiah and I'm just stunned at just how much the days of Jeremiah seem to be like the days that we're facing here.

But in chapter 6, he talks about walking in the beautiful paths of God. I'll just read it to you. Jeremiah 6 16. Thus says the Lord, stand in the ways and see. He's talking about standing in the ways of God.

And ask for the old paths where the good way is and walk in it, then you will find rest for your souls." And then the tragedy is proclaimed in this verse, but they said, we will not walk in it. And I hope there are no daughters no fathers here who will say no that's not for me I'm gonna follow my own heart I'm gonna follow the ways of this world I'm gonna follow the other girls in this world. And I'm here to say don't. Don't do that. I've seen the blessing, and it's a beautiful blessing.

Now I'm here really to say walk fearlessly before God in power, in love, and in sound mind. And in a few minutes I'm going to talk about that in more detail. And I want to talk to you fathers about saturating your homes with the Word of God. I want to talk to you daughters about honoring your parents, honoring your father and your mother. I want to talk to you about what a daughter should be doing in her home in her single years.

I want to talk to you about what a daughter should be doing in the Church of Jesus Christ during her single years. You have a power-packed opportunity to add so much value to your home and and to your church. I want to talk about fathers who actually walk with their daughters. I want to talk about daughters and their entertainments and their reading material. I want to talk about fathers who actually caused their daughters to sin.

I plan to address these things in different ways during this time that we're together. But we're going to be taking aim at the enemies of biblical femininity. We're going to be taking aim at the enemies of biblical manhood. Now, by the way, tomorrow there's going to be a target range with paintball, and you can take aim at a target with the enemies of biblical femininity. Shoot them.

Shoot them down. But not just that. You can take aim at their counterparts and go after that. Hit the bullseye there. So there you have it.

Power, love, and sound mind. 2 Timothy 1.7. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind." So I pray that this will be very helpful. You know, here's the deal with biblical womanhood and how powerful it is. And I'm going to give you six things, six reasons you should pursue this.

And the first is, this kind of woman, this kind of daughter, she's going somewhere. She's a daughter who's a dominion taker, and she learns what it means to be a helpmate. That's such a powerful thing. Secondly, she has a focus. She's a home builder.

When she gets older, she's a keeper at home, but she builds up her home when She's in her parents' house. Third, she's a nurturer. She's a mother. She cherishes children. Fourth, she's into home economics.

She's a domestic entrepreneur, like the Proverbs 31 woman, who's always adding value. And fifth, she's a demonstration of unfading beauty in all of her ways. Modesty wearing the robes of righteousness, recognizing that it really matters what she wears because it declares who she really is and it declares who her gods are. And then finally, sixth, she's a learner. She's a teacher and a trainer of the next generation.

These are critical marks of what it means to be a woman who follows the Lord. But I'll just tell you this, the world that you're living in wants to distract you from every single one of those things. And I'm here to say, don't get distracted. Focus on the biblical vision. Be faithful to what God has proclaimed for you.

So I'm going to be here in different ways proclaiming, no. We say no to the world. We say yes to Jesus Christ and all of His ways. All of His ways are perfect. They're pure.

His ways are pleasant ways. All His paths are peace. Scripture is sufficient for you. And your time as a daughter, and you
