Everyday we break God's commandments because sin came into this world and invaded what God created to be good. When our first father, Adam, rebelled against God, we, in Adam, ran away as well. We all came into this world as sinners and this is why we continue sinning in our lives. This is why we need a Savior. We can try to clean ourselves up, but we cannot stop sinning because it is mixed in our thoughts and in our attitudes. The only way we can get out of this is by trusting in what God has done for us in Christ. We must listen to what God has said about us and His provision to sinners like you and me through His love and mercy.
The Bible says that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus was born to do what God requires of you and me: live a perfectly righteous life, not once disobeying God's commandments. Christ is the only righteous person that has ever lived yet He willingly agreed to pay for the sins of sinners. It is by His life and His death that sinners like you and me can come to be accepted by God. When you turn from your sin and trust the Lord Jesus, God will accept you and you will come to know God. You will be reconciled and be adopted into the family of God.
You must confess before God that you are a sinner, have broken His commandments, and cannot save yourself. You need what He has done for sinners in His Son. Ask Him to save you and change you.
We break God's commandments. We do that every day and the reason for that is because sin came into this world It invaded what God created to be good and when our first father Adam rebelled against God We in Adam ran away from God, too And you might have heard this but it's true that in Adam's fall We sinned all And so when you came into this world, when I came into this world, we came into the world as sinners. And that's why we go on in our lives sinning. And that's why we need a savior, because we can't clean ourselves up. We can't stop sinning.
You might try for one day, I challenge you, one day to try to go without sinning. You can't do it. You can't go for an hour. You can't go for five minutes because sin is mixed in our thoughts. It's mixed in our attitudes.
We're told to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves and we don't do that. We're not capable of doing that because of sin and so we're in a really difficult situation and the only way we can get out of it is by trusting what God has done for us in Christ. And so when we listen to what God says not only about us, but about his provision for people like us, how he has shown love and mercy to sinners like you and me, then we must take him at his word there too. And what the Bible says is that God sent his only begotten son into the world, the Lord Jesus. That's why Jesus Christ was born, was to do what God requires of you and me, which is to live a perfectly righteous life, to live a life of obedience, never once disobeying God's commandments.
And Can you imagine that? Jesus grew up in a house with brothers and sisters and He never once sinned. He didn't ever experience sinful jealousy. He didn't ever get sinfully angry. He never said a sinful thing.
He never thought a sinful thought. He always did what he was supposed to do. He never left anything undone. He never violated God's commandments. And he earned righteousness.
So he's the only righteous person who's ever lived. And Even though he had no sins to pay for himself, he willingly agreed to pay for the sins of sinners like you and me. And that's why he died on the cross. When he was on the cross, God poured out his wrath against our sin. And Jesus took the payment and paid it in full that you and I owe.
And it's by his life and his death that sinners like you and me can come to be accepted by God. And when you turn from your sin and you trust the Lord Jesus, God will accept you and you will come to know God, not just about God, but you'll be reconciled to God. You'll have your sins completely forgiven. God will adopt you into his own family. He'll become your heavenly father.
Jesus Christ will be your older brother and you'll be able to start living with God, for God, forever. And so what you need to do, what you must do, is confess before God that you're a sinner, that you've broken his commandments, that you can't help yourself, and that you need what He has done for sinners and His Son. And ask Him to save you. Ask Him to change your heart. Ask Him to send His Spirit into your life so that you might turn away from your sin and give yourself heart and soul to Jesus to live for Him forever.
