God’s goodness means that He is both inherently good in Himself and He will always do good.

This means that whatever God does is good. There are things that happen in this world, natural evil and moral evil, that can cause people to question why a good God “would allow this.” These honest questions can come from a place of sincere pain and a desire to make sense of the world. If we come back to what God says and take Him at His word, we can humble ourselves before Him and say, “Lord, we do not understand this, but we know You are good. You are good, you are wise, and you are almighty.” He has proven His goodness to us by not sparing His own Son, but offering Him up for us all. Our God is worthy of being trusted. We can bow and confess what the scriptures say.

Well, God's goodness means that He is both inherently good in Himself. He's not evil. There's no evil in Him. There's no line that runs through Him that has on one side of it goodness, on the other side of it that which is not good. But He's purely good.

And He will always do good, which means that whatever God does is good. And so there are things that happen in this world, both in terms of natural evil and moral evil, and it can cause people, has caused people to question, you know, Where is this good God? If God is good, why would He allow this? Those are honest questions and they can come from places of sincere pain and desire to make sense of the world. If we come back to what God says and take Him at His word, He is good.

He always does good. Then we can finally just humble ourselves before him and say, Lord, we don't understand this. We don't get this. Why this? But we know you're good.

You're good. You're wise. You're almighty. You always do what is good. And even when I cannot see it by faith I believe it.

He has proven His goodness to us. He didn't spare His own son. He delivered Him up for us all. And this is our God. And the God who did that out of love and kindness and mercy, who demonstrated his goodness to the creation that rebelled against him, is worthy of being trusted.

And we can, when we don't understand, simply bow and confess what the scripture says, that he is good and he always does good. You
