If a young man asked me about the omnipotence of God, I would explain the fact that God is all powerful. He is the strongest being that the world has ever known. Perhaps I would direct his attention to some of the heroes/superheroes that we see in our culture. They are strong and courageous yet every last one of them pales in comparison to God.

Think about the fact that God upholds the world by the word of His power. Every single star in the night sky, every single planet and aspect of the universe is in motion and in its place because God directs it in that specific way.

R. C. Sproul said that there is no such thing as a maverick molecule floating around in the expanse of the universe. Everything is under the divine control of God and upheld by His power.

If I were talking to a young man and he asked me about the omnipotence of God, I would simply respond by explaining the fact that God is all powerful. He is strong. He is the strongest being that the world has ever known. And so perhaps I would maybe direct his attention to some of the heroes that we find in our culture, whether it be through the Marvel movies and you know you have Star Wars and you have these characters even in you know certain films that come out that are so popular. You have The Incredible Hulk and you have you know The Mandalorian.

You have all of these different figures that are strong and they're courageous, but yet every last one of them really pales in comparison to God. When we think about the fact that God upholds the world by the word of his power. Every single star that's in the night sky, every single planet, every single aspect of the universe is in motion and it's in its place simply because God directs it in that specific way. It was R.C. Sproul years ago who said that there is no such thing as a maverick molecule that's floating about in the expanse of the universe.

And so everything is under the divine control of God, but not just his control. It is upheld by his power. And so he spoke and things came into being. So when you think about a figure like, say, the Incredible Hulk or Superman or Batman or any of these characters that we see in Hollywood. We see their strength, we see their muscle, we see their power, but none of them are able to speak something out of nothing into being.

And that's what we see with the power of our God. You
