Sometimes when I do a marriage conference I will ask the audience, "Did anyone marry the wrong person? Or does anyone think they married the wrong person?"

The answer to that question is, "You never married the wrong person." You always married the right person for you under the circumstances in which you were getting married. That is, God's decretive will is being accomplished in your life even in the instances where you have violated His revealed will for you. This means that His decretive will ultimately provides the best good for you. In other words, He will take your bad decision and, yes, He will follow up with a sanctifying punishment or painful experience, but in the end all things will work together for good for your ultimate sanctification. Could you have minimized the pain and some of the chastising work of the Father in your life if you had made a better decision according to the revealed will of God? Yes, but in the end, God's will was accomplished.

That is, God's decorative will is being accomplished in your life, even the instances where you have violated his revealed will for you, which means that his decorative will ultimately will provide the best good for you. In other words, he'll take your bad decision and yes, he will follow up with a punishment or a painful experience in which he will sanctify you through the bad decision that you made.

And in the end, all things will work together for good. Even those bad decisions you made in your life will work together for good for your sanctification and for your ultimate good. Now, could you have minimized the pain and some of the chastising work that the Father would do in your life if you had made a better decision according to the revealed will of God, yes you could have. But in the end, God's decreed of will was accomplished, even in your bad decision, And the ultimate good was accomplished in your life by the sanctifying grace of the Holy Spirit in your life and the chastising works of the Father.
