Are there benefits to gathering together as Christian brothers and sisters at church?

John Snyder explains in this video that there is something that is only visible when Christians serve Him. There are things that we will never experience as an individual. 

The Church can be a great beacon of light to the unsaved. It is a great evangelical tool to see families come together to worship. 

We can be either a poor witness or a good witness to unsaved by the way we interact with other Christian families in the Church. 

Romans 12:10 (NKJV) - "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another"

The world is able to see that there is something about the character and the perfection of God that is only visible when Christians together serve Him. There are things about God that we will not ever experience. There are aspects of the Christian life, parts of the path, that you will never be able to walk isolated or individualized. It must be as a part of a body. God has designed us to be rescued as a part of a greater company.

And in the same way that there are aspects of the Christian life and there are experiences of the truth of God that we don't fully enjoy as an individual, In that same way there are aspects of God's beauty that cannot be displayed to the world as an individual Christian only, but the world sees us together together. We ought to be a bit confusing to them. The church gathers, it doesn't have what the culture thinks is essential for happiness. We have not refashioned the worship of God in order to, you know, to fit the taste of the culture. And so they don't find it very attractive perhaps, but they see that we find it attractive.

And they see people that they know run businesses or you know or work down the street from them or teach their kids at school or whatever you do and then they see you on Sunday and you are thrilled to be gathering with other people and focusing on Christ. Not even what Christ might do for you, just focused on Him. And they look at that, and that bewilders them in a good way. It's a great evangelistic tool for the world to see a group of people interested in something, satisfied in something that the world finds uninteresting. But also I think that one of the ways we show the world the worth of God is how we respond to each other as believers when we are not very lovable.

You know, when we do still sin, the world doesn't need to see a mannequin of a Christian, a plastic, false, perfect version. They do need to see that we are being real with each other and that we're honest that we do grieve over the fact that we still sin and there is still selfishness. There are so many blind spots But as God brings us together as a group, we complement each other, we help each other, we love each other in ways that the world doesn't understand, and we build each other up, every Christian adding what's lacking in the body, and the church then becomes a much more complete picture of the worth of God. You
