How can we glorify God during difficult times?

Sam Waldron explains in this video that It is helpful to remember that we can glorify God through the hard times by being steadfast in our faith. We believe God's promises. We believe that He is good. We believe that all things will work together for good. In trusting Him, we can glorify God despite trials and hardship.

Just like Abraham demonstrated faith even when life was difficult, we also should remain steadfast in the promises of God.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) - "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

One of the most significant texts of scripture that's helped me in many dark times in my life and I think will help other people is a text of scripture which answers the simple question, what should we do when we are in dark and fearful times? What should we do when it looks like things are not working out the way we would like? And the text of scripture I have in mind is in Romans 4, and It speaks of Abraham, who in the dark times, of, and related to his lacking of son, the Old Testament says, or Paul says, that he was strong in faith, bringing glory to God. And so it's helped me sometimes in dark times to ask the question, how does God not want me to respond to this dark and fearful event that's taken place in my life? What is it that God wants me to do?

Well, what he wants me to do is to be strong in faith and this is the way I can glorify God. Be strong in faith and giving glory to God. That's Paul's language. So what am I supposed to do in dark times? I'm supposed to believe God's promises.

I'm supposed to believe that God's promises to me and Jesus Christ will be fulfilled. I'm supposed to believe that God is good. I'm supposed to believe that all things will work together for good to those who love God. I'm supposed to believe those things. And it is in this way that I can glorify God in the dark times of my life.

And it's in this way that men can glorify God in the dark times of their life. So particularly incumbent upon men to respond to dark providences this way. Because it's their duty to lead their wives and they are not the weaker vessel, they're supposed to be the stronger vessel and give protection. They must not allow their own hearts and minds to give way to fear and distress and despair because this is just gonna make their wives' lives different, more difficult. So they need to be especially those who in dark times believe God and so give Glory to God.
