What is one benefit that comes about from trials in our lives?

Kevin Moore explains in this video that God moves in mysterious ways. Even though we may not understand it at the time, when faced with trials, will we grow angry with God or will we submit to His will?

We know that He works all things for our good. In the tough times, we must remember and believe that the Lord is good. Oftentimes, though it may not be easy in the moment, when we look back, we can se that we grew the most during those difficult times. 

James 1:2-4 (NKJV) - "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

To glorify God in dark times, you have to have a real understanding of God's sovereignty and his providence. The old hymn that we sing, God moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. That's something that every Christian during some season of life is going to have really pressed upon them. And then we have to make a decision. Will we kick against it?

Will we begin to make accusations against the goodness of God? Or will we bow in submission to Him realizing that nothing has come to us that hasn't passed through His hands, that He has not allowed, that He is indeed working all things for our good. And so to glorify God in difficult hard providences we have to be submissive and just know that the Lord is good. He never deals with us in any other way but in goodness and in our finite minds sometimes we have a hard time defining what true goodness is but you know one of the one of the areas that we grow the most as Christians is through difficulty, through trial, through suffering, through those dark times, and what an opportunity they afford us to glorify God when we live in light of what the scripture tells us concerning His providence.
