What is important to note in regards to glorifying God?

Dr. John Snyder explains in this video that glorifying God goes beyond merely thinking or saying the right things and it becoming robotic or detached from emotion.

Rather, we need to have the right heart when it comes to the things of God. We ought to glory and delight in the doctrines of God.

Romans 15:13 (NKJV) - "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

It's not just though a matter of being mechanical and saying well you know if we're going to glorify God we have to do right things or we have to think right things we have to say right things about God. There's also the issue of the heart. Jonathan Edwards said it was never enough for a man to agree with right doctrine, to understand correctly right doctrine. A man must delight in it, glory in it, to be thrilled with it. When we think about the truths of our God, these great doctrines, this mountain range, we don't approach it, you know, as a scientist, you know, in an abstract manner.

This is our God. This is my life. And because He has become mine, and I have become His, when I think of the descriptions of Him and His worth, when I think of the perfection of His character, it's not in a detached, distant manner. This is my God. And so I want my heart to be engaged, not just the mind.
