How can we help our children enjoy God?

Kevin Swanson explains in this video that we can help our children to enjoy God by reading God's Word together and describe to our children how God has created the entire universe and is majestic in all of His works. 

He shares that singing hymns together as a family can be helpful -- singing worship songs and giving God the glory for the wonderful things that He has done. 

Revelations 4:11 (NKJV) - "You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Well, I think the best way for us to instruct our children as to the enjoyment of the Lord is to enjoy him in his word and his works. So our children are going to receive this somewhat by symbiosis. If we as parents are enjoying God, We're exploring the field of science and history as representations of the works of God and we're seeing his majesty, his glory, his amazing goodness and wisdom in the the galaxies and the powerful stars that are built to burn for five billion years with that sort of power and glory. As we begin to describe these things, or we go into inner workings of the cell, or describe the puffer ship, fish that does these amazing crop circles at the bottom of the ocean, we step back and say, God's a genius, God's glorious, God's majestic in all of his creation, his works, his works of providence and such. We respond by singing to God be the glory, great things he has done.

That's why I advocate singing hymns and psalms at the end of every chapter in our curriculum, whether it be science or history. We want to be sure that we're responding in prayer and praise and singing the worship songs, giving God the glory for the great things he has done. So as parents emulate that with their children, I think their children will pick up on that and respond in worship. And there's nothing we want more than our children walking in the truth and living their lives to the glory of God.
