What are some biblical principles for modesty for females?

In this video, Sam Waldron outlines three biblical principles for a woman's dress and appearance in public: femininity, becoming, and modesty. These three principles are specifically connected to a woman's role in society and her relationship with men. Waldron emphasizes the importance of gender distinction and the negative consequences of gender confusion in our society.

According to Waldron, a woman's appearance should be distinctly feminine, meaning it should reflect the unique qualities and characteristics of being a woman. Additionally, it should be properly becoming, which means that it should enhance a woman's beauty and not detract from it. Finally, a woman's appearance should be modest, which is essential to being a genuine and godly biblical woman. Waldron explains that modesty indicates outwardly the quietness and embrace of a woman's role in the home and in her relationship to men.

Overall, Waldron emphasizes that the way a woman dresses and presents herself in public has a significant impact on how she glorifies God and how she relates to men in society. Therefore, it is important to teach young women these biblical principles and to encourage them to embrace their femininity while also being becoming and modest in their appearance.

Proverbs 31:30 (NKJV) states: "Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."

I think there are three biblical principles of womanly apparel, womanly appearance, I guess, public appearance. And they are that a woman's dress and appearance should be distinctly feminine, it should be properly becoming, and it should be distinctly modest. So there are three things, becoming, feminine, and modest. And those three things are specifically connected to the way in which a woman is to relate to men and to her role in society. The Gender confusion of our day is awful, it's hurtful, it's going to wreck thousands of lives because people don't understand the necessity of implementing not just in their hearts, but in their lives and in their appearance, gender distinction.

So there needs to be distinctly feminine appearance. This appearance Paul says should be adorning, which is a word in 1 Timothy 2 that talks about being becoming, that is to say, it's not any glory to a woman to look terrible. It's a glory to her to dress in a way that's becoming. And finally, there's this whole matter of modesty. Modesty is essential to the way a woman images God.

It's essential to being a genuine and godly and biblical woman because it indicates outwardly the quietness and the embrace of her role in the home and in relationship to the man. So there's some of the things that come to mind when we talk about how a woman glorifies God in our society and how we should teach our young women to glorify God.
