How does the act of following Jesus manifest in our daily lives?

John 16:33 (NKJV): "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

One of my favorite passages in all the Bible is Revelation 14 6 and they follow the lamb wherever he goes. They follow him, they imitate him, they seek to be like him, they mourn when they see the discrepancies in their life, the contradictions, and they run back to him for grace. They follow him. How can I say this? I know men who just cross every T and dot every I.

I'm not sure they're following Jesus. I know men that are a mess, bulls in a china shop. Every day they've done something they're repenting of. But you can see them hard pressed following after Jesus. And I think you can see the difference there.

Now, I'd love to, you know, we need to be both. We need to... But it's following after a person. And That kind of is something that I think marks my own personal, I don't know, walk over the last four decades, is just stumbling after him. You know when I'm walking through the street and there's a temptation or something, I'm not thinking, oh, rule number seven says don't do this because if I do this I won't be a principled noble man.

To me, I'm walking with a person whom I do not want to grieve. I'm walking with Jesus, you see. Now that's never separated from his word. The more you study the word, the more this becomes a reality. But I'm walking with him.

There's so many times I think I would have left the ministry except for him. It's all about him and if it's not about him it's idolatry.
