When we think in terms of what Jeremiah speaks about, we transition that into our New Testament context and what we see there is really God giving us the great commission that we are not as God's people, as churches, to limit ourselves to who we were whenever we enter into a town, a city, a nation, and so forth. We are to multiply. We are to ensure that God's people, especially through missions, endeavors, multiply and see more and more people coming to Christ, planting churches, multiplying as Christians in terms of their families, and so forth. And so really, it's the great commission in miniature form that we are being in Jeremiah.
