The local church has to be central to the family, to the Christian family. It can't be an afterthought. Everything I think in our lives should revolve around the local church, the Sabbath day, and other activities that might take place throughout the week. But really it's the idea of why is that the case? It's the place where you go to fellowship with God's people.

It's the place you go to feed your soul, to hear the Word of God from a man preaching the Word of God very faithfully who's studied, who's prayed, who's desiring your good and your family's good. And so there's so many benefits to basically causing your family life to really orbit around the church. It's not something, you know, that you decide on Saturday night, are we going to go to church tomorrow, for example, you're going to church, you're making it the pattern and the cycle of your life, and it's a very healthy habit. I think the thing to think about as the culture diminishes and continues on this downward trajectory is that there's still light in Goshen, right? There's still great reason to hope, great reason to laugh, great reason to rejoice, and God will have favor upon his people.

But his people have to be faithful to live according to the way that he wants him to live. The way I look at the church is that they're outposts of righteousness. In the midst of a dark culture, you have these bright spots and gradually those bright spots should infect the culture around us with light and with truth and cause the Word of God to flourish not only in our homes, but hopefully spill over into our communities and to the societies that we live in.
