In bad times, this command encourages us towards perseverance, towards resilience, towards steadfastness in the face of trials and in the face of challenges. Rather than succumbing to despair, to complacency, we are called to remain faithful, to be diligent in our every season of life. Occupying. It involves the posture of readiness. It is the posture of obedience.

It's the posture of anticipation. What are we anticipating? We are anticipating Christ's return, The king returns. We are eagerly awaiting his coming, while actively engaging in kingdom work until he comes again.
