In the sermon 'Who is Discipling Your Children,' Scott Aniol addresses the significant influence of culture in shaping the beliefs and values of children. He warns that if children are predominantly influenced by worldly culture, they will adopt a worldly worldview. Aniol argues that culture, including entertainment and music, is not neutral but embodies religious values and worldviews. He emphasizes the importance of guarding children against unbiblical ideologies by ensuring their primary influences are the Word of God and the Church of Jesus Christ. The sermon calls for parents and churches to be vigilant in protecting children from negative cultural influences and to prioritize biblical discipleship.

We need to recognize that everything around our children is discipling them. And if our children are discipled by the world, we should not be surprised that they will grow up to be worldly. Sometimes we think that culture is neutral, that maybe entertainment and music and these sorts of things don't have any influence, but they do. Culture is an embodiment of religious values. It's an embodiment of worldview.

And so we need to be concerned about what is discipling our children and again if we allow into our homes into our families into our churches cultural expressions and forms that are embodiments of unbiblical ideologies then we should expect that that is going to disciple our children in that way All the more reason to guard and protect them and make sure that they are being shaped predominantly, exclusively by the Word of God and by the Church of Jesus Christ.
