In the sermon 'Young Men Standing Their Ground in Babylon' by Pooyan Mehrshahi, the speaker emphasizes the importance of young men maintaining their faith and integrity in challenging environments like Babylon. Key practices include regular prayer, studying the Word of God, and maintaining communion with the community of believers to avoid isolation. The sermon underscores the necessity of seeking mentorship and wise counsel from older believers, highlighting the role of mutual support and learning. It also stresses the importance of hard work and diligence, contributing positively, and avoiding compromise. Believers are encouraged to remain hopeful, trusting in God's sovereign plan and glorifying Him even in difficult circumstances, as God is ultimately in control and deserving of glory.

What should a young man do in Babylon? He should stay his ground. How does he stay his ground? By regular prayer. He has communion with God.

By studying the Word of God, he sharpens his sword, he holds to the sword of the Spirit the Word of God, and he has communion with the Lord's people. He doesn't isolate himself in Babylon. That's what the devil would want him to do. To isolate as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. The lion would seek to isolate the weak animal and tears it apart when it's away from the flock.

And So the young man has to not be isolated but be with the Lord's people, be with those that could mentor him, be with those people that he could be a blessing to for Christ. But another thing, he should seek wise counsel, learning from older believers. Young men learning from older men, ladies learning from the older ladies. We need mentors but also being diligent. We ought to be working hard.

Babylon is not a place for rest. We ought to be contributing positively. We should be avoiding compromising. All of those kinds of things requires hard work, labor, trusting in the Lord. But also we should be remaining hopeful, trusting God's plan.

God is sovereign. Ultimately, He will win. He is over all things. He will receive all the glory. Every knee will bow to Him.

So as a young man, what should I do? I should also glorify God. I should also remain hopeful because Jesus Christ is upon His throne. And so with all of the difficult circumstances, even facing death, I can praise God and I can be hopeful. That's what a young man should do in Babylon.
