Brothers and Sisters,
As we consider this tragic event, what are we to do? The easiest thing to do is to cultivate anger toward those who hate God and despair over the state of our country. However, many, in fact, do hate God. Our public schools, universities, and media outlets have radicalized millions of our citizens. This is why homeschooling our children is pivotal. But all is not lost. We need to understand that Jesus Christ can soften the hardest heart, and so it is important to remember Charlie Kirk's remarkable example of winsome, gracious, respectful, Bible-saturated debate.
But what should we do? The most helpful things any of us can do are the simplest, most Christian things:
- Fill your mind with the Word of God daily and embrace the preaching in the church.
- Continue to love your spouse as the home is the epicenter of preserving love in the world.
- Focus on raising your children in the training and admonition of the Lord and do not get distracted by lesser things.
- Strengthen your local church through worship, prayer, and building up the body.
- Prosper in your employment by doing excellent work for the glory of God.
- Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- If you are single, put your phone down and focus on face-to-face relationships, devote your single years to the prosperity of the local church, prepare for marriage, strengthen your family, strengthen your church, continue to pray for a godly spouse, and turn away from everything that distracts you from holiness.
We have a simple, yet most powerful way forward.
