In this video, Kevin Swanson explains that it is important to teach young men to be leaders in evangelism. It involves both courage and faith. In his church, they organize street evangelism events. Young men are preaching in the open air. Yes, the spiritual opposition is intense, but it is an invaluable experience.

2 Timothy 4:2 (NKJV) - "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching."

Our Lord's last command is our first priority. In the church, in the family, in the city, to the ends of the earth. Join us in October for White Under Harvest. I think it's important to teach young men to be leaders in the area of evangelism and the teaching of the word. It involves an aggression, it involves courage, faith.

What we do in our church is we organize street evangelism campaigns. We go down to the 16th Street Mall in Denver, we have 20, 25 people there. Typically four to five of the young men are willing to actually stand up and preach in the open air, which means you get up there, you break the silence, you break the opposition with the preaching of the Word of God. The spiritual opposition is intense. Sometimes people are attacked, Sometimes things are thrown at our men who do the preaching.

But this is almost the essence of manliness, when a man is willing to stand up for Jesus Christ, take a little persecution, and overcome his fears, and bring the truth of God's Word in a public forum. When men do this, something changes about them. It's a great preparation for manhood, it's a great preparation for fatherhood leadership, and the things that that young man is going to need to do in his later years. So we just bring as many of the young men down as we possibly can. Now some of them do the preaching, some of them stand around and listen and also pass out a few tracks and try to engage in conversations.

So our evangelism downtown involves the public preaching but also the one-on-one communication and interchange. And we get a lot of conversations going. We're down there for two hours. We'll typically get 25, 35 conversations going during those two hours.
