In his sermon titled 'Admonitions for Those Who Desire Marriage,' Steve Hopkins addresses young individuals who seek marriage, emphasizing that this is a commendable and rare desire in today's world. He encourages them not to be disheartened if their personal timelines differ from God's plans, reassuring them that everything is orchestrated according to His will. Hopkins references Psalm 37:4 to illustrate that delighting in the Lord will grant desires aligned with His will, such as marriage and family life. He warns against following worldly paths when discouraged and cites 1 Corinthians 15:58 to advocate for steadfastness and unwavering commitment to God's way, as it is ultimately rewarding.

But before we begin, I want to say a word to our young people, thinking about you this week and about those specifically that are not married yet and who are wanting to get married and have this desire to be married, desire to raise a family for God's glory, and I just wanted to encourage you and tell you, you know, that's a good desire. And it's a rare thing in our world today. It's a good desire and it's a rare thing in our world today. People are just happy to, you know, at least for a time, to just live in fornication, sin, you know, outside of marriage, all of these things. It's a good desire.

It's a biblical desire. It's a God-honoring desire. And I just wanted to encourage you not to get discouraged or be discouraged if your timetable isn't God's timetable. Maybe your timetable isn't God's timetable. And that He's got everything going according to plan.

It's all according to His plan. And I just wanted to leave you with a couple of passages of Scripture. Psalm 37 and verse 4, many of you may be familiar with this, delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Stop talking about evil desires, he's talking about those desires that are in line with His will and getting married and raising a family and the nurture and admonition of the Lord is a godly desire. And it's something we should be praying for.

Delight yourself in the Lord. He'll give you that desire of your heart. If you've grown weary, some have. Some have given up and they say, I'm not going to do it God's way. I've tried that, tried that route, not going to go God's way, going to go the world's way.

You know, if you feel like, you know, you're in a situation where you're growing weary, don't give up, don't stray off of the path. First Corinthians 15 58, the apostle Paul says, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor for Him is not in vain. Just be delighting yourself in the Lord. Be steadfast and unmovable. God's got it all worked out and it's going to come about in His time.

When it does, you'll look back and you'll say, praise God, He did it His way and not my way. Bye.
