In this sermon, the speaker explores the response of the Psalmist to affliction, troubles, and enemies. The Psalmist emphasizes the importance of studying the Word of God and meditating on His promises. By immersing oneself in the scriptures, one can find comfort and fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ. Additionally, the Psalmist encourages believers to maintain fellowship with other believers who fear God and keep His precepts. The comprehensive summary highlights the spiritual response to difficulties and the importance of relying on the Word of God.

Dear friends, here the Psalmist seems to repeat himself. He is found often in affliction, often in troubles, often he has enemies. What should he do? What do you do in that situation? What do you do when you are offended?

What do you do when you are ill? We often complain. We often run away. We often hide ourselves. We often go round and round in our minds over things.

Can I fix the situation? What shall I do about this matter? The spiritual response to our troubles, the Psalmist says this is what he did. He meditated upon, he remembered again and again that word remember is used of The law of God, the promises of God, God's testimonies. He's remembering these things day and night.

He gets up at the midnight, he says, and gives thanks to God. What does he say to us? When we are in trouble, he says, what I do, I study my Bible more. When I have enemies around me, what do I do? I study my Bible more.

When I'm in pain, what do I do? I just want to study the Word of God more. That's what I want to do. And as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, if we are reading our Bibles correctly, the more we study, The more we prayerfully consider the Word of God, what do we find? Or should I say, who do we find in the Word of God?

The more we are afflicted and we study the promises of God, we find those promises found and fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. So what should you do next time when you're confused about a matter? What should you do when you lose your job? When your family have gone against you? When you have found that you are ill in certain things When old age is setting in what should you do When something that you never expected happens, you go to the Bible, you go to the Word of God, you immerse yourself in the verities and the promises that are found in the scriptures.

And something else you ought to do. In verse 63 he says, I am a companion of all them that fear thee and of them that keep thy precepts. The Sad thing is for many people, many even who claim to be Christians, when there are things that are happening that they are discomforted, that they are not very happy about, whatever it may be, they move away, they pull back. Here the Psalmist says, I've got all these problems. The list of them.

I've had to write a whole psalm. This longest psalm I have to write about it and give you a list of all my troubles. But I'm not pulling back. God has done such a thing for me. Sins are forgiven.

I have the promises of God. In Jesus Christ, the Psalmist would say, and I have companions. I have friends. I have believers who believe the same thing. They fear God.

They are keeping his precepts. They love the Lord with all their hearts. I'm not going to separate from them. And dear friends, there are many, many practical applications here. And you might be going through these issues you might be going experiencing some of these things what is your response your response should not be according you to your feelings but according to the word of God.

Your response should be spiritual. So may that be the case for us. May we be maturing and growing in these things that we have been reading about. Well, may God bless his Word. Let us pray.
