The sermon titled 'Not Good to Very Good' by Jason Dohm explores the biblical account of creation, particularly focusing on Genesis 2:18-23. It begins with God declaring that it is not good for man to be alone and ends with the creation of Eve, which God deems 'very good.' The sermon emphasizes the significance of this narrative in understanding human relationships and God's design. It highlights that work existed before sin, teaching Adam holiness and satisfaction in God. The sermon then addresses the need for a helper comparable to Adam, underscoring the interdependence between men and women. Eve's creation from Adam's side is pivotal, signifying an unbreakable interdependence. This reflects God's intent for complementary roles in fulfilling the dominion mandate. The sermon challenges modern notions of gender interchangeability, asserting the biblical view of complementary but distinct roles between men and women. It encourages embracing God's design and purpose, advocating for the celebration of women as essential to God's creation.
The title of the sermon today is Not Good to Very Good. We start, something is not good, but by the end things will be very good. This is day six of creation. And that's what our text is about. It begins with something that God declares to be not good.
And then in chapter one, at the end of day six, God looks across his creation and says that it's very good. So whatever the problem is, it gets fixed in our text. Not good to very good. Chapter one gave us the overview of creation week. Now here in chapter two, we're doubling back to certain events in Creation Week and getting further details and a fuller picture of those events from chapter one.
Last week James taught on the section where God planted a glorious abundant garden in Eden and placed Adam in it to tend it and keep it. So you don't have to work because sin came into the world. Work happens before the fall of man into sin. Adam was placed in the garden to tend and keep it my favorite line from last week's sermon was Something close to this I did the best I can at transcribing You can tell me how I did, James. With the commandment, God is teaching Adam what it means to be holy and to be completely satisfied in God.
So I'd never thought about it in those terms, but I think that nails what's happening in last week's text. God is teaching Adam by giving him this commandment, what it means to be holy, to be holy is to be separated to. God is saying, Adam, you're not your own. I have the right to command. I'm commanding you.
You're mine." And he's teaching Adam to be completely satisfied in God. There is something here that's off-limits and you won't be improved by it. You won't be better off from it, just trust me, rest in me, obey me, be completely satisfied in me. So amen to that. As we come to our text, let's ask God to help.
God, I thank you for this text, and I feel insufficient to do it justice, but I pray for your help in my speaking and in my friend's hearing. In Jesus' name, Amen. All right, let's subdivide. I want to take the first verse by itself. So that's verse 18.
Hopefully your Bibles are still open to Genesis chapter two. Follow along as I reread verse 18. And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable or comparable to him. Here we have in this verse the problem and the solution.
So if you're taking notes on the handout by filling in blanks, problem fills in the first blank solution in the second. The problem and the solution. We start with the double name of God, the Lord God. Lord in all caps, all capital letters, and God, Jehovah Elohim, this self-existing divine one, those are what the names mean, it's an oversimplification, but you've heard the extended version, so I'll spare you that now. The self-existing divine one who made all things in creation week is now speaking.
So By self-existing we mean from eternity past through eternity future, God needs nothing outside of Himself to exist. You need food and water, He needs nothing. And by divine we mean He's something completely different than human. He's not a smarter, faster, stronger version of us. The Bible says there's no one like you, God.
So he's divine. Don't think of a superhuman. Think of something that transcends anything that we have a frame of reference for. This God, Jehovah Elohim, the self-existing divine one, now makes a declaration. It is not good that man should be alone.
That is the problem statement. So it's always helpful to get really clear in your mind what's the problem. Here we have the problem. It's not good that man should be alone. Up to this point every individual thing that God has made has been good and he's got God so a day of creation happens in creation week and God looks out on what he created and he sees that it is good every individual thing that God has made has been good and the creation of the man of Adam made in the image and likeness of God was good but not complete good but not complete Adam the one man at this point in history made in the image and likeness of God was good, but he was also made to be in close fellowship.
And there is no fellow. And there is no fellow So he's made not to be alone, but to be in close close Fellowship and a dog or a cat won't do He needs a real fellow And he was given a mission which could only be fulfilled with a very particular kind of help. That he...there's a gap. There is a lack. A gap that has to be filled a lack that has to be supplied look back at our recitation text chapter 1 verses 26 through 28 then God said Let us make man in our image according to our likeness.
Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
Dominion, exercise of authority over the whole earth and fruitfulness and multiplying and filling the earth and subduing the earth by The design and intent of God requires both male and female. Requires both men and women. There's the obvious. God made procreation to involve the union of a man and a woman. So no babies without that.
No more humans without that. But just understand, God didn't have to make it that way. It was not a requirement on God being imposed on God that it had to be men and women. There are actually creatures on earth that don't need male and female to reproduce. So God's under no compulsion to make it be that way.
He wanted it to be that way. That's why it is that way. But it goes so far beyond that. God made men and women comparable, comparable, but different. So like, but not identical.
That's what we have here. Like, comparable, but not identical. What would be the point in identical? This modern notion that the two and there are only two genders are perfectly interchangeable is nonsense. Of course it's nonsense.
This is insanity. Of course we're not perfectly interchangeable. What would be the point of that? If you've ever thought that a world of only men sounds like a terrible idea, you agree with God. Congratulations.
I congratulate you. Your impulse that a world of only men would be dreadful is in agreement with God. You nailed it. If you've ever thought of a home with only a fatherly influence, I'm thinking that's not a good idea. Two dads, what a home.
Or a home with only motherly influence. You want your kids growing up in that home? Either home. Do you want your kids growing up in either home? I do not.
This reflects the like but not identical that God has created. We have an impulse to see one without the other and say oh that's not good. It's just degrees of what God is saying in our text. God made male and female to be complementary. What one lacks the other supplies.
What one is strong in covers a weakness of the other. And sometimes what seems to be a weakness actually is what the other needs. God made male and female to be complementary, providing the full circle of what is needed, full circle of what is needed for both the relational needs that were created by God. In other words, we have relational needs, but God wanted it that way. God made us with relational needs.
He didn't have to. He could have made us perfectly fine without close fellowship. He didn't make us that way. And providing the full circle of what is needed for the mission that God has given to mankind. Try to fulfill the dominion mandate to fill the earth and subdue it, without male and female.
So that is the problem statement as declared by God. It is not good that man should be alone. Then God solves the problem saying, I will make him a helper comparable to him, a helper that you can compare to him. At this moment, there's no source of relationship or no source of help that you can compare to Adam made in the image and likeness of God. What are we watching here?
We're watching here the man get a very good gift. What's under the tree for Adam? Oh, the best gift ever, except for Christ. God gives him a helper Comparable to him want to be with him and to help him who compares with him or as the NASB And the NIV NIV render it a helper suitable for him or as the ESV renders it a helper fit for him but when I look at the Hebrew lexicon it would be most literally parallel to two tracks running side-by-side always the same direction, just a little apart, parallel to or a counterpart. It's the most literal, parallel to or a counterpart.
The point is, the man is made in the image and likeness of God So God is going to give him a companion Somebody be with fellowship close with and a help someone that can fill the lacks that he feels in himself, that he has in himself, and come alongside and add strength that Is made in the image and likeness of God a companion and the help that is also made in the image and likeness of God God isn't considering man alone because there are no other creatures. There are all sorts of other creatures, right? They've been made. Man's the newcomer, but there are a lot of other creatures already waiting for him. So God isn't considering Adam alone because there are no other creatures.
There are all sorts of other creatures. He's considering him alone because there's nothing else that bears the image and likeness of God. They don't compare with him in that most fundamental sense. So man has a level of intelligence that reflects the image and likeness of God. God is going to give him a companion and a help that has a level of intelligence that reflects the image and likeness of God.
Man has the wherewithal to be in fellowship with God. God is going to give him a companion and a help that also has the wherewithal to be in fellowship with God. They'll actually be able to walk with God together and there'll be glory in that. More on that next week. Come back.
Man has the capacity for highly developed communication, written and verbal. God is going to give him a companion and a help that also has the capacity for highly developed communication. They can have long conversations with each other. They can write each other letters, love letters. They don't have to be love letters, but they can write love letters.
We got amens coming. All right. Now we're getting somewhere. Man has the capacity to love and be loved, to give love and to receive love and God is going to give him a companion and the help that also has the capacity to give love and to receive love to show mercy and receive mercy with a sense of humor married couples How much time do you spend laughing? I hope a lot.
And on and on and on. God is giving man the very good gift of a companion and help comparable. They compare. Suitable, a true counterpart, parallel tracks. Before we move on, let me give this exhortation.
Let me beg you not to get too utilitarian about this. Okay we're forming a corporation and The corporation needs certain things so God is supplying certain things okay God there are needs and God is supplying but don't turn this into a corporation and make this utilitarian. God is creating an ecosystem for love. Not just romantic love, including romantic love, but not just romantic love, But walking with God and being close together in walking with God. And that is such a precious gift.
So we're witnessing a very good gift being given, a blessing. This is a text that can sort of make you tense up certain parts of it because they're so counter-cultural. And I just want to, just if you can, throw that off and celebrate what's in the text Oh, if you can throw all all the prickles Pluck out all the prickles of this text and make us tense up about manhood and womanhood things. Revel in the blessing that is in this text. This is intended to make you happy about what God has done, not to bemoan what God has done.
Verses 19 and 20. Continuing on, follow along as I reread 19 and 20. Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. Whatever Adam called each living creature that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.
But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. None of them go bare. In these two verses, we have an exercise that proves the point. So If you're taking notes by filling in blanks, proves fills in the first blank, point the second, an exercise that proves the point. God makes all of these animals and birds and God brings them to Adam to see what Adam will call each kind of animal.
These will be called dogs. These will be called horses. These will be called goats. These will be called bears. These will be called eagles.
These will be called cardinals or whatever. And whatever Adam called a kind of creature, that was its name. So every name stuck. Adam has been given the final word by God to name the other creatures. So God brings them and Adam gives them a name and the text says whatever he called them that was his name.
Adam has been given the final word by God and he names it that's its name. We saw naming in chapter 1 verse 5 God called the light day and the darkness He called night. Verse 8, and God called the firmament heaven. Verse 10, and God called the dry land earth and the gathering together of the waters He called seas. God named things he had made because God is the unquestioned king of all the works of his hands.
So he gets to name anything he wants to name. He's the unquestioned king of everything that he formed and shaped. Then on day six of creation week, God makes image bearers in his own image and likeness and he gives them dominion over the other creatures with the authority to govern on his behalf he actually says take dominion subdue the earth and Adam being tasked on his first day on earth With naming the animals and birds is a very concrete expression of that. You have dominion over the rest of the creation. Now here come the animals.
I'm bringing them to you. You name them on my behalf. Listen to what David says in Psalm chapter 8. This is Psalm chapter 8 verses 3 through 8 and the psalmist is David and he says he's speaking to God in the Psalm. When I consider your heavens the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have ordained, what is man that you're mindful of Him and the Son of Man that you visit Him.
For you have made Him a little lower than the angels and you have crowned Him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the sea. Oh Lord our Lord, How excellent is your name in all the earth. So David looking out on the universe, he looks at all those stars, the great expanse.
And he says, why do you even notice us? But He acknowledges that not only has God noticed us, he's put all things here under our feet. He's given us the rule of it all. He has crowned us with glory and honor. He shouldn't even take notice of us.
We're a speck on a speck on a speck. So David marvels that any of God's thoughts make it to this little corner. He says, but you crowned us with glory and honor you gave us dominion over it all here Back to our text. An important note. Adam is not a baby just learning the first things.
God made Adam in a mature state, a man in body and mind. God can and does talk to Adam on his first day and Adam fully understands and can say things in return. He's getting ready in our text as we work through the text he's getting ready to say things in return. So God says things to him he fully understands them on his first day and he'll say things back. And because sin has not yet entered the world, nothing is corrupted so everything about his body and mind functions significantly better than anything we've ever known.
So you just have to understand, you don't have a frame of reference for a human being like this. Because everything we've known came after sin, after rebellion, after the effects of sin, generation after generation. So our bodies aren't the same and our minds aren't the same and Adam was better in every respect here because this is before sin. Here's an example. His body is going to last 930 years.
Chapter 5 verse 5 gives you how old he lived to, 930 years. And a lot of that was after sin. So his body is not like your body, his mind is not like your mind. He's smarter than anybody you've ever known on his first day. It's like a computer out of the box.
The operating system is ready to go. Ready to go. It's hard for us to back away from the thought that the human race is improving. Now, how we like to think about it? Because we've lived in a time of rising average lifespans, true, and an explosion of new knowledge, true, but understand that is simply because we haven't experienced this world before sin.
We need rising average lifespans because sin shrunk down from 930 years to about 100 years at the top. So, to the extent that we envision Adam on his first day naming animals with a one syllable grunt, we are very, very disconnected from what is actually happening. There are no one syllable grants here. So Adam is naming, and as Adam is naming, he is observing and he is noticing. Not like me.
Next. Not like me. Next. Not like me. Next.
Not like me. Why is that? Why are they like him? Because he is made in the image and likeness of God and none of them are Eventually Adam is out of creatures to name He had given names to all cattle to the birds of the air and every beast of the field and yet he is still thinking there's not a comparable helper for me among all these other creatures. Not one that compares to me.
I don't have a counterpart here. I'm in the middle of all these other creatures, but in a fundamental way I am alone. Adam gets the point. God designed it, saw it, knew it before this exercise, but after this exercise Adam knows it too. Adam feels it too.
There might be pets. I don't know. Did Adam have a pet? I don't we don't know There are definitely beasts that can be harnessed for strength But there is no help comparable to Adam This naming exercise has driven home that point. Verses 21 through 23.
Follow along as I reread the final three verses. The Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he slept. And he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, he made into a woman and he brought her to the man and Adam said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man and these three verses we have God's work and Adam's response. Work fills in the first blank and response fills in the second blank, if you're taking notes that way, filling in blanks.
God's work and Adam's response. The Lord God, here's that double name again, the Lord God, the first anesthesiologist, caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and God takes from Adam's side. The Hebrew word can mean rib or side He takes from Adam's side The point is that God takes from Adam in order to make Eve The Hebrew word rendered made in verse 22, then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, He made into a woman, is a Hebrew word that we haven't seen yet. Of course, we don't see any of the Hebrew words. We're only reading the English.
And in chapter one and up to this point in chapter two, we've seen the English word made a bunch of times, but it's never been the translation of this Hebrew word. We're seeing this Hebrew word for the first time So just know a new Hebrew word is being introduced And it most literally means to build to build Listen to the note in the Reformation Heritage Study Bible. The word made, not the same as the instances of made in chapter one and two so far, means built and is often used of architecture, implying that woman is intricately crafted and balanced to complement man. So there's a mission here. There's a man and he's alone and it's not good and he needs a help, a companion and a help that is like train tracks parallel to him.
And so there's a careful design to fit the mission here. I think that's what we have in view. Intricately crafted and balanced to compliment man. Now there's something new here. There's something that we haven't seen yet.
The others, including Adam, so you have all these kinds of animals and all these kinds of birds and all these kinds of aquatic animals, things in the water, formed from earth. This concludes Adam himself, formed from the earth. Chapter 2 verse 7. So this is still our same chapter, verse 7. And the Lord God formed the man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life a man became a living being who's formed of the dust of the ground chapter 2 our chapter verse 19 out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air So that brings us up to current.
Creatures, all different kinds, including Adam, all formed from the earth. But the very first woman, Eve, isn't formed that way. She is formed from the first man, out of the first man. And the Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians About the significance of this and it is tremendously significant. So please turn to first Corinthians 11 Where the apostle Paul drives home how significant it is that the woman was formed from the man, out of the man, and not like every other creature was formed.
First Corinthians 11, all sorts of curiosities in this chapter like head coverings. I'm not teaching on 1 Corinthians 11, I'm teaching on Genesis 2, maybe one day. 1st Corinthians 11, I'll read verses 8 through 12. Paul writes, for man is not from woman, but woman from man. This is right to our text.
God took out of the side of Adam and from that he made woman. Verse 9, nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. Eve created as a helper comparable to him. Write to our text, verse 10, for this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head because of the angels nevertheless neither is man independent of woman nor woman independent of man in the Lord for as woman came from man even so man also comes through woman but all things are from God so the man was created first Adam first and the woman was created for the man. Adam needs a companion and Adam needs help.
Eve was created for him and she is from the man. Taken from his side, God made from a part of Adam. But Paul is making sure we don't get it wrong. Man is not independent of woman. Every man since Adam comes through a woman, every man has a mama.
Isn't that true? Every man has a mama. So Man, get off your high horse. You got a mama. So neither man nor woman is independent, but both man and woman are interdependent by the design and intent of God.
God made an unbreakable interdependence between male and female. We might think of it differently if God formed Adam from the dust and then He saw he wanted to do something different so God formed Eve from the dust But when God takes out of the man's side and forms Eve He is communicating that there is an unbreakable interdependence between male and female unbreakable interdependence and this is not demeaning to women Paul actually says in verse 7 look up a verse to the end of verse 7 that woman is the glory of man. It is the glory of man, a tremendous honor and privilege of man that another image bearer comparable to himself was formed from him. It's our glory, men, that another image bearer like women would be made out of our side. In 1st Timothy 2 when Paul teaches that he doesn't permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man in the church he roots it in today's text so he he says I don't permit a woman to teach in a church or to have authority over man in in the church and he sets that on the foundation stone of our text in Genesis 2 saying for Adam was formed first then Eve so Adam why don't you let women teach in the local church?
Why don't you let women have authority over men in the local church? He says, I'll tell you, because the man was made first then the woman so creation order Adam first then Eve from his side and woman being created for man wasn't good that he was alone so God makes for him a companion and a help for him, is tremendously significant and must inform how our homes and our churches and our societies function. Creation order, man first, then woman, is incredibly significant. And Adam naming the first woman is incredibly significant. He's actually going to name the female gender woman in our text.
Now is it demeaning that women were created to help men? Well if you want to go down that track, it would be just as easy to argue that it is demeaning that men were created insufficient in and of themselves and in need of high octane help. Like if we're going to make an argue for demeaning, let's say, men, you are insufficient in and of yourselves And God saw the lack and the void. And so you had to have help. And He made woman.
And what help? When I say high octane help, what do I mean? You go to the gas pump, it's like good, better, best, right? Like depending on the kind of gas And it gets more expensive as you go. Women are the high octane version.
Why do I say that? Because they're made in the image and likeness of God just like men are. And that implies such capacity and capability, Capability in the image and likeness of God, a reflection of that. Capacity in the image and likeness of God, a reflection of that. The man, you need that kind of help.
Like the high octane kind. The really expensive kind. The really high performing kind. Is it demeaning to God that Psalm 3320 says, the Lord is our help and shield think God was demeaning himself when he put that in his word Psalm 33 20 the Lord is our help and our shield. So that must be demeaning to God then because He helps us.
So to Psalm 115, 11, you who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord. He is their help and shield. And shield. Is it demeaning to the Holy Spirit to be called the helper? We're nervous about it because we're wading through the prickles.
And I'm saying the text doesn't give us any reason to be nervous about it. So we know all the dynamics after sin has come into the world that makes this sort of a tense thing to consider and talk about. But at this point in human history, there's no tension here. There's no need for it. Because there's no power struggle.
There's no none of that. There's no selfishness. There's no power struggle. So this doesn't come with prickles at this time in human history You just got to understand it. It's not in the text.
We bring it to the text This text our text doesn't demean women it celebrates women The banner hanging over this text ought to be Thank God for Women! This is a celebration of women and everything that's essential that they bring to planet earth. God has just said the earth without women isn't what it ought to be. They don't bring secondary things, they bring primary things that are essential. I think it is wrong to think of women created as helpers as demeaning, or men as being in need of help as demeaning.
I think we should just acknowledge what the scripture says creation order is significant it does matter And it is simply the design and intent of God. This simply pleases God and of course he is acting within his rights. Does anybody want to take up that debate? That God is acting within His rights to say, this is what pleases me, I'm doing it this way, I think we should stand and salute. All of this of course is terribly offensive to modern ears.
I get it. But if we can't be in step with the spirit of the age, let's be in step with the Holy Spirit. Brethren, understand there is nothing that we need to apologize for here or anywhere else in scripture. There is something glorious. It's the opposite of needing to apologize for it.
God is setting something glorious before us. A man and a woman get to walk with God and build a life together. Much more next week. Saved some. Now here are a couple of things that aren't explicitly in the text.
They're not said in black and white, but they must be true because of what is in the text first Adam was asleep, but Adam knows exactly what happened That must be true because of what Adam says this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. We don't know how he knows. The text is very abbreviated. There's almost nothing there. There's much more that we don't know than we do know, but we know that he knows because he says she was formed out of me.
So he was asleep, but he knows exactly what happened. Apparently God told him or something. Second, there is actually a kind of presentation. It isn't that Adam wakes up and Eve is there by his side. He wakes up, oh, what's this?
The text says verse 22, he, the Lord God, brought her to the man. He brought the other creatures to Adam to be named and then the text says he brought her the woman Eve to the man and this presentation she isn't there but God brings her to him, results in this outburst of joy from Adam. She's from me. She's like me. Only a lot prettier.
Only a lot prettier. Our translation of the New King James is probably too tame in rendering it. This is now bone of my bones. The NASB and the ESV are probably better. They render it at last.
Bone of my bones, at last. It's literally a strike on the anvil. It's like a lightning bolt. Yes There's euphoria here there is a burst of adrenaline here In the Hebrew the words are linked. She shall be called woman.
The Hebrew is ish-ah. Because she was taken out of man, the Hebrew is ish. So ish man, ish ah, woman. Ish ah literally means the female version of a human. So no imagination necessary.
It's the female. And this is preserved in the English. Man, woman. Two applications. One.
We need the courage to rest in the purposes of God. The world we live in is going to take courage to build a worldview and to build a world and to build a life on this text instead of what the world is saying. You gotta have courage. If you don't have the courage, the world is gonna break you. Daughters, you can stand aside whether this is true or not true.
But if it's true, you're going to need a spine of steel or the world is going to break you over this. The current in this river is rushing in exactly the opposite direction, saying, we are interchangeable. You don't need to help anybody. Place your bets, my friends. Place your bets.
Is this the revelation of truth from the all-knowing God to mankind or isn't it? If it is, you build one kind of life. If it isn't, go do something else with your life. It is an all or nothing proposition and the problem is people don't take it as all or nothing. They hedge their bets and they try to have both and get neither.
If you want the glorious thing that God has given us, you have to push all your chips into the middle of the table and say this is the revelation of truth from God to mankind. And I can build my life on it and when I build my life on it, it'll be a good thing not a thing that robs me. So is it or isn't it? Place your bets my friends. Application number two is Philippians 419.
Listen to this. This is glorious. This is the right place to end. I think Philippians 4 19 and my God shall supply all your need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus. God sees a need, God created a need.
God created a need and then He fills it Out of his riches. So we wanna hang the banner, thank God for women over this text. Celebrate women, not demean, this is not a text that demeans women in any way, it is a text that celebrates women. Thank God for women. We hang the banner, but that's not our last need.
We've got a bunch of other needs. You know what? God supplies them out of his riches. And then he's not diminished at all. He has as much to give as he did before he supplied your need.
So he supplies all my needs, and he supplies all your needs, and he supplies all your needs, and he supplies all your needs, and then he still has as much as when he started. He supplies all the needs of his people according to his riches. He's not rationing. Better slow up on the supplying of needs so in case I run out and God's never had that thought one single time. He's never running out.
He's supplying out of riches. Let's pray. God, thank you that you are supplying out of riches. We can have such confidence. Go give us such confidence in you.
God, thank you for women. You have made this world to need women to supply essential things. And I pray that your daughters in this room would have such joy and confidence in how you've made them, what you've made them for, that they would put all the chips in the center of the table and bet everything that you know, know all that is good. You know what is good, how to bring about good. Pray in Jesus' name, amen.
