Praise the Lord. What a good crowd that we have this morning. Lord willing there will be some others who come and be with us before the day is over. We trust they plan to be with us through the end of the service. We've been looking forward to this for a while.

Back in 2020, whenever I was coming back and forth, the Church told me that 2021 would be their 25th anniversary. I said, let's plan for me. And of course we weren't sure how it would all work out, but the Lord did, we're thankful. Couple of changes to the program potentially. You'll all be in prayer for brother Paul Jackson.

He texted me this morning. Of course he was looking forward to being here. You all may not know this, but Brother Jackson's got a fan club here at this church. But he texted me this morning about 6 o'clock. Told me that he'd had some trouble breathing last night.

He's not going to be on the Lincoln's. I texted him back and I said, brother we're praying for you, but the service will be going on this morning and this afternoon, so if you get feeling better, You come on and we'll still have you preach. So he may still show up, but pray for Brother Paul Jackson. I know he was looking forward to the meeting. And I know that we were looking forward to having him too.

We're glad y'all are here. And when I sent out the announcements, I said that we're celebrating 25 years of standing for the whole Council of God's Word, including an emphasis on the glorious doctrines of God's grace in the salvation of sinners and highlighting the old landmarks of Baptist history and faith. And that's what sets us apart from everybody else in this area. So this morning before we get too far into the service, I wanted to read a passage of scripture and then something from the Church of Minutes. Because not everybody was here 25 years ago.

Now some of y'all were. I wasn't. I wasn't. But it's good to remember. It's good to remember.

In the book of Malachi chapter 3 verses 16, 17, and 18. The Bible says this, The day that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord and that thought upon his name. They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts. In that day, when I make up my jewels, and I will spare them as a man spareth his own son and serveth him, then shall you return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. What a joy it is to serve the Lord in His church and what a joy it is to fellowship with one another.

And to know, to know as we remember, the Lord remembers too. That's right. We Praise the Lord for it. A few weeks ago, Sister Fay contacted me at the house. She said, brother David, I've got the record book from when this church was organized.

She's good about that. She's good to remember things and keeping track of things that's happened over the years. She gave me this and I've been reading over it. She showed me where this was at. I thought it would be fitting to read this.

The entry in this book says, Day of Church Organization, Saturday, June 22, 1996. Well, first of all, I was in denial that that was 25 years ago. It don't seem like 1996 should be 25 years ago, but it is. It is. But this is what it says, day of preaching by several visiting pastors.

Preaching services began at 9 a.m. Began at 9 a.m. Guest pastors included Brother David West, John Pruitt, Gordon Buchanan, Paul Jackson, Troy Shepherd, and Joe Wilson. Approximately 1130 AM, Brother Joe Wilson began officially organizing our mission into a true New Testament Baptist Church. Special business meeting called at this time by Brother Joe Wilson, organizing pastor, for church members to nominate pastor of one sovereign grace Baptist church.

Brother Barry Smith nominated Elder Reggie Moore as pastor. Church voted unanimously in agreement. Motion carried. Dismissed for lunch in prayer by Brother Joe Wilson. Preaching services resumed at 1.30, continuing until approximately 5.30 p.m.

Approximately 60 visitors, including pastors and other church members, and visitors were present on this day. The week preceding was revival services preached by Brother Joe Wilson Tulsa, Oklahoma, all of which was a great success we feel. Highlights of the week and Saturday were the many people who shared in our happiness, The non-air-conditioned tent we rented to have services. The fun and fellowship and food. The tremendous messages delivered by the Holy Spirit and pastors from nearby.

The special singing and musical talents. Wonderful weather given by God Almighty. Thanks be to God in all glory for all that was done was to glorify him alone. Amen and amen. Charter members on that day was Brother Reggie Moore, Sister Fay Moore, Brother David Meathers, Sister Tina Smith, and Brother Barry Smith.

Of course, Brother Reggie's gone to be with the Lord, and Brother David has too, But the rest of you all, if you want to stand up, go ahead and stand up, those who are charter members of this church. We thank the Lord you're still here 25 years later. Amen. But you know we thank the Lord that there's been more added to this church since then and so the rest of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church go ahead and stand up. By no means is this church a great big church in the eyes of the Lord, but we're thankful, we're thankful for what the Lord has done and is doing.

So we come together to remember to thank the Lord for His blessings and His goodness. So let's go to the Lord in prayer. You know, up until not that long ago, Brother James and Sister Pat were members here, and we thank the Lord for them. So Brother James, would you Go to the Lord in prayer for us. I would like to thank you for the privilege of approaching me with your own grace.

I pray that you would look down on us in the name of love and mercy and forgive us for what we have done to you so many times. We thank you for each one of those come out and turn aside from the flame of the world coming to your house today. We pray that you bless each one of us here and each family represented. We pray that you would bless our loved ones, families that have lost loved ones. We pray that you would open their eyes and their hearts for us to turn to later and look to you for salvation with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for this church and what it means to us and what it meant to us over the years and the faithfulness. And I pray that you would continue to bless him in the future when you stand by for a green, lift him up without letting arm of passion around him and give him strength that he may as he goes in and out among the ministers here, believe him that they do things with the honor of the Lord by your name. Thank you for all the churches of my faith and the Lord, sister church that you blessed them. I pray that you be with us in the service of the day as the managers bring that word to us that we have in our hearts and up in the ears to hear your word and we will return all the things out of our mind and the world and concentrate and receive that word and I pray that you be with our country and our leaders that they look at the beat and bow before you and look at you, the guys, the people of our military, and we thank them for taking them to the farm and they're praying that you go to put us on for the remaining part of the day.

And we believe in God's power and spirit. We ask this thing of you, just to make it a part of itself. Amen. Thank you.
