This field area, praise the Lord for His word, His grace. We look at the homosexuals and the transvestites and all of that. And we can say, praise God, that by His grace, we're not in that mess. And so in this day of turmoil and confusion, we have a Lord and we have an anchor and we need to look to Him, trust Him. Just look this morning, if you will, in Jeremiah.

Jeremiah chapter 15. Good to be able to open His Word this morning, exalt His name. Jeremiah chapter 15, again we'll read verse 16. Thy words were found and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart, For I am called by thy name. Oh Lord God of hosts Now You're familiar with the book of Jeremiah Jeremiah was a prophet of God called To be a prophet really ordained before time of his birth.

Jeremiah was faithful in preaching the word, warning the people. There in Judah, people had turned to idols, rejected the true and living God, and so God called Jeremiah to testify against the wickedness of these chosen people. Jeremiah was faithful in preaching the Word, but As a result of his message for the Lord, he was persecuted severely. Also, the Lord told Jeremiah that he's not going to save these people as a whole. Look at verse 1 of Jeremiah chapter 15.

Then said the Lord unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, Yet my mind could not be toward this people, cast them out of my sight and let them go forth." Lord said, judgment's coming. He had warned them through the prophets, but they would not listen. And so, here the Lord tells Jeremiah, if Moses or Samuel were here praying, I still would not save these people from judgment. And so Jeremiah was pretty much despondent. He had gone through some severe persecution because of his message for the Lord.

And so we find here in verse 16, thy words were found and I did eat them and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts." So even in this time of severe persecution, trial, and trouble, things weren't going the way Jeremiah thought they should. He found joy in the Word of God. And so I want to share with you this morning a lesson entitled, The Miracle Book of All Ages. The miracle book of all ages. Now by way of introduction, Jeremiah discovered the precious word of God.

Said, thy words were found. He recognized God's Word and then received it by faith. You see, you can hear the Word of God, you can even memorize the Word of God and not really receive it. You have to receive it. It has to becomes a part of us.

And that's true of the Word of God. It must become a part of us. We must eat our feet on the Word of God. Now the glorious truths of God's Word became a joy and rejoicing of Jeremiah's heart even in this time of great persecution. So even though he is being severely persecuted, things weren't going the way he thought they should, Jeremiah found joy and peace in the Word of God.

And thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart. So even in time of severe persecution, he found strength, joy in the Word of God. Then Jeremiah felt it to be a great honor to represent the Lord in this time of suffering. You know we can do one or two things during time of trial and suffering. We can moan and groan and complain, or we can realize we're a child of God and the Lord has brought us to this place.

And we look to him, we feed on his word, and we're strengthened. And So like Moses, Jeremiah esteemed the reproach of Christ to be greater riches than all that the world had to offer. So he looked to the Lord. Now the messages that Jeremiah was called to deliver to his people, the Jews, appeared to him to be of God. So he knew it was God's message.

These messages were welcomed by him and he cheerfully received them. He treasured them up in his memory and carefully retained them in his mind. These messages were readily received by Jeremiah and faithfully delivered to his people, hoping they would be a means of bringing them to see their sin and their need of repentance. Jeremiah felt that it was a great privilege to be a prophet of God and to faithfully preach forth his word. Now let's consider some important facts concerning the miracle book of all ages.

Notice first, the Bible is called a miracle book because of all the miracles that are found in it. It opens with the miracle of creation which is recorded in the first two chapters of the book of Genesis. Let's look at that if you would in Genesis chapter 1. Genesis chapter 1, I want you to notice verse 1. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.

Then notice verse 31. God spoke and all these things came into being, but look at verse 31. Genesis 1, 31. And God saw everything that he had made and behold it was very good and the evening and the morning were the sixth day so God spoke the world into existence now look over in chapter 2 Genesis chapter 2 and verse 1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the hosts of them.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because that he had rested from all his work which God created and made. So God spoke the world into existence. Look at Psalm if you will Psalm 33. We'll do some flipping through the Bible here this morning.

But notice here Psalm 33 in verse nine. Some of these liberals that think God didn't speak the world in existence need to read the scriptures. But notice here Psalm 33 verse 9, or verse 6, verse, By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. So there was nothing, God spoke, and the world's word. So God created the worlds through speaking.

And notice verse 9, for he spake and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast. So God spoke the world into existence. Look in Hebrews if you will, back over in Hebrews chapter 11, Hebrews 11 and notice if you will verse 3. Hebrews 11 verse 3.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. God didn't start with anything to create the world. He simply spoke the world into existence. Now we receive that by faith. Of course without faith you can't please the Lord so faith is very important.

Now both the Old and New Testaments are filled with miracles. As we study the scripture, we find many miracles which testify to the power and glory of our God. There is a miraculous theme running through the Bible. We serve a miracle working God. It is a miracle how God provides a way of salvation for sinners.

I think the Lord calling an old foul mouth sinner out of his sin changing my heart and giving me light concerning the truth, truths of the Lord's nature, His being, His person. And the fact that I was a sinner condemned in my sin provided the Savior to come and suffer and die for my sin and for those sinners in the world who would repent and believe on Him. And so the Lord provided a Savior through the virgin birth, The sacrificial death, the resurrection of His only begotten Son. And so, what a miracle our Lord provided salvation for sinners like you and me. The substitute for man's sins was typified in the Old Testament sacrifices.

The substitute was personified in the person of the Lamb of God, which is recorded in the New Testament, John 1, 29. John the Baptist, when he saw the Lord approaching, says, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is the Lamb of God that those Old Testament sacrifices pictured. All through the Old Testament, all these sacrifices that were made were simply a type of this lamb who had now come on the scene. The Bible closes with the miraculous account of the people of God dwelling in the glories of heaven with their Lord.

And what a day that will be. But look at me if you will in the book of Revelation chapter 22. Revelation 22. Notice beginning in verse one. And he showed me, by the way here the Lord is revealing these truths to John of the future things that are to take place.

John exiled to the Isle of Patmos because of his testimony for the Lord. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits and yielded her fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

Verse 4, And they shall see His face, and His name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there and they need no candle neither light of the Sun for the Lord giveth them light and they shall reign forever and ever That's what we have looked forward to as a result of our coming Savior who laid down His life for our sins, called us out of our sin by His mercy and grace through the preaching of the Word. Notice secondly, the Bible is a miraculous book because it has survived Throughout the ages. Has survived throughout the ages. Look with me if you will in 1 Peter chapter 1.

1 Peter 1, 25. But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. And so we find the word has survived throughout all the ages. Now in ages past, wicked men have sought to destroy the Bible to no avail.

Today, they are seeking to do away with it through new versions and perversions. And so the word, the liberals are seeking to change and do away with it. It's amazing how subtle Satan is. Here we have the NIV and it's supposed to be put in everyday English and if you get to reading that NIV, you'll find that a lot of those precious doctrines are left out or watered down. You see, the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.

Now she was a young woman, but she was a virgin. She had to be a virgin. And so she was more than just a young woman. And that's how subtle the Word of God is changed by these liberals. Notice thirdly, the Bible is a miraculous book because of its miraculous power to save and change lives.

And it's amazing how the preaching of the Word can change a sinner's heart. It's Glorious. The Word of God convicts of sin. Look in Hebrews, if you will, Chapter 4. Look of Hebrews, Chapter 4.

Notice, if you will, Verses 12 and 13. Hebrews 4, verse 12. For the word of God is quick, that means it is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and as a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." The Lord uses his word to penetrate the very being of a person. He may hide his sin from others, but the Word of God will reveal that sin and that need. And so the Word penetrates the heart.

I look at verse 13, neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight, but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. People try to hide from God, but there's no hiding from God. He knows our every thought. He knows our every deed. He knows all about us.

And so he takes his word and he penetrates our hearts with the Word of God and searches us and shows us our need. Only the Word can do that. It is alive and it is powerful. And I remember years ago how the Word of God spoke to my heart and the Spirit of the Holy Spirit quickened my heart. And All of a sudden the old dead sinner was made alive and I saw myself as the sinner I was, cried out to the Lord for mercy and he saved my soul.

I hadn't gotten over it yet. Praise the Lord for his mercy and his grace. The Bible reproves, the Bible corrects, and the Bible instructs. We see that in 2nd Timothy chapter 3, 2nd Timothy 3, and notice if you will verse 16, 2 Timothy 3, 16, all scripture. By the way, that's the Old Testament and the New Testament.

A lot of people think that Old Testament is no longer prevalent. Let me tell you, you couldn't understand the New Testament without the Old Testament. But notice here, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine. Now we live in a day when people hate doctrine, but folks we need doctrine. We need, I remember a guy I went to Bible College with, he went a little later than I did but he he he says man I've given up on doctrine I've just got to preach Christ well I got news for him when he preached Christ you're preaching doctrine amen all script is given by inspiration of God and his prophet for doctrine, notice for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

So the Lord gives us wisdom through His Word. He reproves us. Get off track. He reproves us. He corrects us.

And He instructs us in order to keep on serving Him. Now the Bible gives life. Not only does it convict a sin, but it gives life. The child of God is born again by the incorruptible, ever-living Word of God. Now look again in 1 Peter chapter 1.

1 Peter 1, notice if you will, verse 23, 1 Peter 1, 23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever." And so the Lord uses his word to bring sinners to see their need of a Savior. He literally applies his word through the power of the Holy Spirit to quicken that dead sinner and call him out of his sin. Now the Holy Spirit gives us faith to believe through the hearing of the Word of God. Romans chapter 10 verse 17 says, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

So the only way we can have faith is by receiving the Word of God. Look in John's Gospel, if you will, John chapter 6. Gospel of John. And notice if you will, chapter 6 in verse 63. Boy, I tell you, this is a great chapter, John 6.

I just get excited when the Lord talks about those the Father had given to Him. You know, I just love to tell those Armenians, just when did the Father give them to him? Answer that for me. We have come a long way. But notice here verse 63, John 6, 63.

It is the Spirit that quickens us. The Word is preached, the Holy Spirit takes that Word and quickens that dead sinner's heart. All of a sudden he's alive. You know I used to think years ago that that old sinner gave himself life by repenting and believing. But you know, that's not what the Bible teaches.

The Bible teaches that he quickens that sinner because a dead person can do nothing. And we're all dead in trespasses and sins. And so the Lord quickens that sinner and then He sees himself as the sinner he is. And only then will he repent and believe or receive the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. So this all happens instantaneously.

But the Lord must work in that sinner's heart. That's when you have these people clean to believe again and again and again and again. You know, if I could save myself, I could lose it. But I didn't save myself, the Lord saved me. And when the Lord does something, it's final.

It's glorious. It's complete. And so that's what the Lord does. So verse 63, it is the Spirit that quickeneth the flesh, prophet of nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are life." So he takes the Word through the power of the Holy Spirit and quickens that sinner and gives him spiritual life.

All of a sudden he turns on the light, or he becomes light. What a great miracle. What a great miracle. Then the Bible produces spiritual growth. So not only does the Bible convict of sin, not only does the Bible give spiritual life, but the Bible produces spiritual growth.

You can't grow spiritually apart from receiving the Word of God. You must feed on the Word of God. Now new Christians grow spiritually as they feed on the milk of the Word. Look again, if you will, in 1 Peter chapter 2. Chapter 2.

Notice verse 2. As newborn babes desire the sensual milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. The Christian, the new born Christian, grows by feeding on the milk of the Word. On the milk of the Word. Now as a believer matures spiritually, he begins to understand the deeper meaning of the Word, and it becomes strong meat.

So we grow from the milk of the Word as we study and feed on the scriptures and apply the scriptures in our lives, we grow from the meat of the milk of the word to the meat of the word. So notice with me if you will Hebrews chapter 5. Hebrews chapter 5. Notice here verse 14. Hebrews 5, 14.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Now the sad thing is some people never grow out of the milk stage and you try to give them a little meat and they choke. It's like taking that three month old baby and trying to feed that baby steak it just doesn't work. And so here these Christians are claimed to be people claim to be Christians some of them been Christians for years but yet they're still milk-fed baby Christians They've never grown. And so we find as we feed on the Word, we are to grow And literally our diet changes.

The apostle warns that some believers never grow up spiritually, but continue to have need of milk instead of strong meat. Now I think of meat in relation to the doctrines of grace. It takes a strong Christian to really receive the fact that God loved us before the world was ever created. See you have to accept that by faith. You're not gonna figure that out.

But also how you get you're not gonna figure out how God became a man through the birth of a virgin. You accept that by faith. But it's as we study the Word we grow spiritually. Look at beginning Hebrews chapter 5, look at beginning verse 11. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing your dull of hearing.

That speaks of a lot of people who claim to be Christian. They have no taste for God's Word. They never grow spiritually. They're babes at the most. Look at verse 12.

For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again, which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat." They just couldn't take strong meat, strong doctrinal teaching. Verse 13, for everyone that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. Now it's nice to have a little babe, amen, a little baby, but ten years later you don't want that person to be a baby, amen? It's amazing. The natural process is for us to grow.

We start off as babies and we do the things of children as we grow, but eventually we're the material to adults. And the same is true for our diet. We start feeding on the milk of the Word when we're first saved, but we're to grow, and the Word eventually becomes meat. We become stronger and able to teach others. So verse 14, but strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason to them that are full age even those are owned by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

And so we grow by receiving the Word growing, notice by use we're to apply the Word of God and as we apply the Word of God we literally grow spiritually. Now Notice again the Bible builds up believers. Paul encouraged the elders in the church at Ephesus to preach the word to their people because they were able to build them up in the faith. Look in Acts if you will, book of Acts chapter 20. Now Paul was on his way to Rome but he stopped in Ephesus and had a message for these elders there in the church at Ephesus And notice what he says here, if you will, in beginning of verse 28, Acts chapter 20, verse 28.

He says, Take eat therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock over the which the Holy Ghost had made you overseers notice to feed the church the Word of God which he had purchased with his own blood." So this church the Lord had purchased with his own blood were to be fed the word of God in order that they might grow spiritually. Now look at verse 29, for I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. There are going to be false teachers come in among you, and unless you know the word you are going to be deceived by them. Verse 30, also of your own selves shall men arise speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch And remember that by the space of three years, I cease not to warn every one night and day with tears.

And now, brethren, I command you to God, I command you to God and to the word of his grace which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." I'll tell you that the defense against false teachers even in among the church is to know the Word of God. So we grow spiritually as we look to the Word, believe in the Word, trust the Word, feed on the word. Those who study and rightly divide the word will never have reason to be ashamed. Look in 2nd Timothy chapter 2. Notice, if you will, verse 15, a glorious scripture.

Second Timothy 2, 15, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You see, the only way you can rightly divide the truth is to know it. The only way you can know it is to study it. And it doesn't just say read it, we're to study it in order to grow spiritually. Then notice again the Bible equips the believer.

It is through receiving the Word of God that the believer grows into maturity. We grow spiritually into maturity through receiving the Word of God. Look in 2 Timothy 3, verses 16 and 17, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Notice verse 17, that the man of God may be perfect, mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. And so we grow into maturity as we study and apply the Word of God in our lives.

No other book will do this for an individual. Satan doesn't want Christians to become mature Christians, therefore he will do all he can to keep us from studying and meditating in the Word. And so we're to study the Word of God in order to grow spiritually. Well, I conclude. The Bible being an inspired book means that it is infallible.

It is infallible. The Bible being inspired is eternal. Not only is it without error, it is eternal. The Bible being inspired is indestructible. And the Bible being inspired is dependable.

We can depend upon the Word of God. The Bible is the only source of information concerning divine revelation, the world's creation, the soul's salvation, human destiny, and the realities of eternity. We look back and we find God's purpose. We look today, see God's purpose in the Word, look into eternity and we see God has a purpose. And He is working that plan today and He's chosen to use us as a part of that plan.

The Bible is a reflection of the past, a mirror of the presence, and a prophecy of the future. We need to love it, we need to read it, we need to heed it. It is the word of God. And like the Lord encouraged Jeremiah in the midst of persecution, trial and trouble, through His Word and by His Word, He will inspire us and He will encourage us and He will fill us with joy even in time of persecution and trial. Even in these days in which we live, we need to feed upon the Word of God.

Let's pray. Lord, we thank you for your word. Thank you, Lord, for your grace in calling us out of our sin. Thank you for providing way of salvation. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming, suffering, and dying in order to literally pay for our debt, our sin debt that we could not pay.

Thank you for paying in full that price, calling us out of our sin, applying that payment to us and giving us eternal life through your sacrificial death and your grace and mercy. And Lord, use us for your honor and glory. Blessed now this day. Continue to meet with us as we Have your word opened in this next hour in Jesus name. Amen
